The question is about prayer but also acknowledges the role of Calvinism and Arminianism is this discussion. We decide to tackle this over two episodes, starting with the age old debate between John Calvin vs John Wesley. We walk through the five tenants of both beliefs, discuss how paradigm shapes interpretation of scripture, and begin to look at how this might impact prayer. Welcome back T&J fam! Last week we had a throwback episode (sorry for the early T&J audio) and this week we have a throwback coffee review thanks to a listener in Costa Rica. Shoutout Micah. If you have listened for a while you know we did lots of coffee reviews in the past, so this was a fun flashback to an earlier time of T&J.

After the review, we dive into a topic we have danced around for a while; the Kingdom of God. We discuss why this is an important conversation and where there is disagreement amongst Christians. Josh lays out his perspective and why he sees this as a here and now concept while Marty pushes back and tries to bring back in the eternal perspective. Welcome back T&J fam! As you have probably noticed, we have been more hit or miss this summer than we would like. Welcome back T&J fam! I know that it has been a couple weeks, but Josh decided to take a trip to Europe and leave us hanging without him. Before he returns to the show I thought I would have a special guest on . . . my wife, Ashley! I have asked her to be on for a while and she finally said yes. We learn a little about her and the work she has been doing for her doctorate degree. This leads into a discuss on our life as foster parents, adoptive parents, and the pain and beauty of our last 9 years together. We top if off by letting our 8 year old, Charlie, get a few words in as well. This prove to be a meaningful and more sensitive discussion and we hope you enjoy!
