The Celtics fall to the Knicks 109-94 and are officially behind the Bucks in the Eastern Conference Standings percentage points wise. This was an ugly game through and through. The Celtics shot an abysmal 9-42 (21%) from 3 and refused to take it hard to the rack drawing free throws instead. The Knicks shot 34 free throws compared to our 14. On a night where JB was out, one would expect for Tatum to step up but that didn't happen either. Tatum scored just 14pts on 6-18 from the field and 1-9 from 3. He is in a serious funk coming off of the All Star Break. In his last 3 games, he has shot a combined 36% from the field and 24% from 3. He needs to get his mojo back and he needs to do it quick.

We did see solid performances from Brogdon and Horford and we saw sparks of brilliance from Smart at times but it just wasn't enough. This isn't a game that should have fans freaking out because it was an anomaly but it certainly wasn't a fun one to watch. This was one of the few games where I was really upset with rotations. With the Celtics missing so many 3s, you are forced to EITHER stop shooting 3s and start getting to the rim OR switch up your personnel and Joe did neither. This would've been a good game to get Muscala more minutes (he didn't check in till midway through third and actually played pretty well) and Pritchard some time but that didn't pan out. Either way, Celtics are looking to bounce back Wednesday night against the Cavs who the Celtics have struggled with this year.
