  • S. 2 Ep. 5: Women who show up

How do women show up for each other ? This season being my birthday I have been truly reflecting on what it means to show up and the women who have showed up for me. I can say first hand God has always used women to open doors for me. I have seen the hand of God in every aspect of my walk on this year and he has used women who are either in my circle or out of my circle to send this point home that indeed when we show up for each other incredible things happen. I suggest few way to show up for each other:

    1. Offer a hand of support when a friend needs help:

    2. Vouch for each other for opportunities:

    3. Make introductions for people into your networks

    4. Offer a listening ear and truly listen not just to respond but to be there

    5. Provide tips to each other for growth be honest and provide authentic feedback

    6. Encourage each other to stay in healthy situations and not toxic ones

    7. Invest financially in other women when you have the means to do so

    8. Speaking highly of each other even when the other person isn’t around

This year I challenge you to think of 3 women who have shown up for you and show them gratitude in whichever way works for it. For next year think of 3 women who you want to support and think of ways you will do so!

  • S. 2 Ep. 3: Purpose over Popularity: Tapping into Your Why Versus the Why of Others

In this episode I share my thoughts on something I believe is killing many dreams: popularity and its dangers. I focus on purpose and how to key into one's purpose saying yes to the very thing you have been called to do here on earth versus popularity us giving credence to everything else everyone wants us to be. over popularity: I share the following tips:

  • Decide early on in your life that you will serve others. What is your Why?

  • Decide what community you want to serve.

  • Say no to anything that tempts you to promote yourself instead of telling the stories of the people you are serving.

  • Stick to your values and don’t be swayed by the crowd.

  • Go where there is less noise. Take the road that isn’t crowded you will arrive faster.

  • Get comfortable with the fact that the only person that needs to see you is God.

  • S. 2 Ep. 2: Sacred Seasons

I share some ways of how you can embrace your season of sacredness :

Here is how I now handle sacred seasons

  • Learn to be silent: You don’t have to have an opinion for everything or contributor your voice to everything. In these particular seasons God himself will do the talking for you. Silence as weakness Silence Obedience. Everything does not need to be announced.

  • Don’t make hasty decisions: Learn to be patient to get the clarity you need before making the wrong move

  •  Don’t explain yourself to people about what is going on

  • Take specific times to be with God to hear clearly from him on what He wants next from you.

  • Be okay with the fact that you may not necessarily get answers to whatever you are seeking but expect peace and clarity.

  •  Spend some time in your creative element: for me one of them is journaling.

  • S 2. EP. 1: Accomplishing year end goals with gentleness

I am so excited about Tea and Peppersoup season 2. After much needed rest over the summer month it feels good to be back. This episode I wanted to focus on how I am ensuring I finish the year strong, but with a different approach, gentleness and intentionality. I share a few ways of how I am going about this which include:

  •  Schedule short breaks an mini rest breaks each month: Take short weekend trips each month andbe intentional about resting during those breaks.

  • Don’t add anything new to your  plate: If it wasn'ton your annual goals at the beginning of the year this time is the most important time to not take anything new on.

  • Tune out everyone and everything that doesn't align with your vision : It is critical to remain focused only on the things that are absolutely necessary and not be distracted.

  • Celebrate milestones you have achieved for the year: We forget how important it is to celebrate what we have already achieved! This is what fuels the energy to keep pressing on.

  • Talk less do more: For me it is critical to really just focus on action for the next few months and engage in less unnecessarychatter about what I am doing.

  • Ask for Help: Seeking help from my community is critical in this season and I encourage you to also think of those who can truly help you accomplish your goals as we close out this year.

  • Ep. 12: Honoring your seasons

In this episode I focus on the importance of honoring the seasons we find ourselves in. I talk about three types of seasons including seasons of trial, seasons of dryness and seasons of blessings and harvest.

I also share some of the ways I have dealt with honoring the seasons I have gone through these include:

Talk to God: Have constant communication with God during all of your seasons. Prayer is important.

Learn your spiritual seasonal calendar: Learn when your seasons occur, and become more familiar with how to prepare for them and how to manage them whilst you are in them. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Wait on God: Being patient is critical particularly during seasons of trial.

Trust in God:Learning to have faith in God during our seasons of trials is very important.

Thank God:It is important to always exercise a spirit of thanksgiving and gratitude in different seasons in our lives.

  • Ep. 11: Distractions & Destiny Killers: Staying Focused on Your Purpose

    In this episode I tackle the importance of staying away from distractions and remaining focused on our calling and our purpose. As we are at the mid point of the year why it is so critical to take heed and remain focused on your projects and what God has called you to do. I mention that some of the distractions can be;

    1. Pride

    2. Comparing our journeys to others

    3. Having the wrong people in our circles

    4. Deceptiveness

    5. Lack of Integrity

    6. Paying attention to the opinions of others that may not suit our purpose

Some of the ways I suggest we remain focus on our purpose are

    1. Stay prayerful and focused on God’s word.

    2. Stay focused on your work

    3. Build a strong community of supporters, well wishers, mentors, sponsors people who genuinely want to see you win

    4. Eliminate all forms of distractions from people whose opinions may cause distraction to your work

    5. Stop worrying about being seen and rather worry about doing really good work in all areas of your life

    6. Do things the right way and with integrity

    7. Pay attention to the people around you that matter the most
