Episode 1- Debunking the “Witch Wound”
Welcome to my inaugural episode of “Tea and Heresy”
In this episode I discuss the history of the Witch and why I don’t believe the “Witch Wound” has much historical backing.
I argue that it may more so be a religious wound, or patriarchal wound, or a pagan wound, or a heresy wound…But little evidence actually supports the wound around receiving abundant, speaking your truth, owning your gifts being associated with the “witch”.
I discuss:
Etymology of the word “Witch”
The Identity of the Witch
Malleus Maleficarum
The creation myth of the “witch” and the propaganda of the time
Did people actually believe in magic ergo witches?
Men and “witchcraft”
Maths and “witchcraft”
John Dee and Edward Kelley
The Devil vs God
And why I think we shouldn’t use the term unless we know its history.
Among so much more.
I hope you enjoy!
