We begin this week's episode with a long rant about the delights of water and the near-heatstroke experience Raven had in Madrid.  In Shadow Scale, we learn Kiggs might reappear soon and discuss whether the Will They/Won't They tension might be better than the end result.

Raven makes a huge mistake at the top of this week's episode, gives us the tea on the disaster she faced with her newest Ikea furniture, and reveals what makes getting tattooed so difficult. In Shadow Scale, the series' ickiest character returns and Jess and Raven come up with wild theories about Jannoula's motivations.

In this episode, chapters 6 and 7 of Shadow Scale make us more and more suspicious of Abdo, his powers, and who he is communicating with behind the scenes. We also discuss which of the novel's half-dragon characters we would want to hang out with the most, and which is the most grotesque.

In chapters 4 and 5 of Rachel Hartman's Shadow Scale, Raven's and Jess's suspicions about Abdo deepen, we encounter one of Seraphina's grotesques, and we reflect on "iPad kids" and the impact of technology on childhood. We also compare Shadow Scale's travel chapters to A Feast for Crows, and what we discover leaves our jaws on the floor.

In this episode, we spill the tea on chapters 1 and 2! Brace yourself for the mysterious absence of Seraphina's "soul-light," Abdo's villain arc, a morally indifferent dragon general, and Seraphina becoming the ultimate dragon whisperer. Plus, Seraphina and Kiggs decide whether to tell Glisselda the truth about their non-affair. (Also, St. Capiti totally steals the show and she's a badass and we are obsessed with her.)
