Jan 22 Christ and Dilbert and eternity

Nearly everyone I know loved the comic strip Dilbert. It was by Scott Adams.  I think we liked Dilbert because it used humor to expose the absurdities of office work in America. Scott died last week and he was reflecting on his life. One of the greatest things he said in his goodbye last week was, "I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and my Savior, and I look forward to spending an eternity with him."

Scott Adams talked about how he changed his life after his wife left him.  He said, "I needed a new meaning in life." He was already famous. He was already successful.  Dilbert, which debuted in 1989, became a cultural fixture for satire on office life, management culture, and corporate bureaucracy. He also had a podcast like mine, only more popular. It was called "Coffee with Scott Adams." And it was dedicated to helping people think about the world, and their lives in a more productive way. Scott said, "I had an amazing life and I gave it everything I had. If you got any benefits from my work, I'm asking you to pay it forward as best you can. That's the legacy I want. Be useful, and please know I loved you all to the very end."

But towards Scott Adams' end, he was reviled by liberals, as much as liberals hated Dr. Seuss. You see, both men were too honest to be politically correct. But Vice President Vance Honored Scott Adams as a great ally to President Trump, and he said that Adams faced death with clarity, courage, and honesty.

I hope one day I can do the same.

  • Monroe's defense of America

Jan 21 Monroe's defense of America

A lot of people aren't familiar with the Monroe Doctrine. President James Monroe wrote the Doctrine as a commitment to neutrality in European affairs, in exchange for Europe's refraining from further colonization in the New World.  It was transformed by Teddy Roosevelt into unlimited writ of authority to intervene in Latin America and overseas affairs. And the Monroe Doctrine embodied the prudent foreign policy of the founders, non-interventionalists. The Monroe Doctrine embodied the prudent foreign policy of the founders. We won't intervene in other countries. It's in the sphere of our interests. Monroe was actually a pacifist. He said, "Wars between European powers are matters relating to themselves, and it doesn't favor our policy to get involved. It is only when our rights are invaded or seriously menaced that we resent injuries and make preparation for our defense. With the movements in this hemisphere, we are of necessity more immediately connected and by causes which must be obvious to all enlightened and impartial observers. We owe it therefore to declare that foreign powers cannot interfere with the Americas."

Russia, China, and Iran have been working with the Venezuelan dictators now for two decades. They've funded tyranny and they've destroyed the freedoms of Venezuelans. More than that, much of the money's gone to DAVOS. That's a multinational group dedicated to our destruction. Also, they built and programmed the voting machines that lost Mr. Trump the 2020 election and won Maduro his elections. No wonder those machines are highly suspect. They were written by tyrants for tyrants. But most of all, we have to keep our enemies out of there. And by the way, they never paid us when they took over our gas companies, when they took over our oil companies. And that oil and those companies are still ours. So we have a legitimate right to be there and to run that country correctly. Sponsored by the Caylor Group Wealth Management in Lynchburg, Virginia. Call 434-455-7197.

  • Our tax dollars funding Christian genocide

Jan 20 Our taxes funding the genocide of Christians

Minneapolis is home to the largest Somali population in America, over 100,000 people now. There are mosques, community centers, cultural organizations, almost all of it funded by American taxpayer money.  And there's a lot of laundering of that money, and they brought their violent crime with them. They were granted temporary protected status back in 1991 by Mr. Clinton because they were fleeing a Somali civil war. They were here temporarily. So why are they still here? They were initially resettled by tax-funded NGOs.  And they were drawn to Minnesota because it was run by Democrats. There's all kinds of welfare benefits where Democrats are. Those 24,000 Somalis turned into 100,000. (They have a high birth rate.) But the problem is that $9 billion that they stole from us ended up funding El Shabab, which is located in Mogadishu, Somalia. El Shabab has been funding ISIS and has been funding the murder of Christians in Nigeria and elsewhere around the world. You know, it really galls me that my tax dollars are being used to kill my Christian brothers. How do you feel about it?  Something tells me that if you're a taxpayer or a Christian, you don't like this anymore than I do. • Marching with MLK

Jan 19 Marching with Dr King

Today is Martin Luther King Day. That has something to do with me because in 1964 I marched with him. I was a waiter in Atlantic City trying to earn money for college. That summer as I look back on it seemed like the movie "Forrest Gump." All kinds of things happened that summer, and I was witness to it. I met Bobby Kennedy who gave me tickets to the Democrat Convention. I met many celebrities while working room-service.

The next day a black friend/fellow waiter asked, "George do you want to do something interesting this afternoon?" I said "sure, what is it?" "Dr. King is in town. We're going to protest the racist platform of the Democrat Party at the  convention. Would you like to protest with us?" I said "sure, I'd like to meet him."

After lunch we gathered outside the convention center and Dr. King showed up. There may have been 200 of us. First thing he asked us was, "Who doesn't have $2?" I thought, "Ugh, collection!" Then he said "Whoever doesn't have $2, I'll give you $2. That way you can't be convicted of vagrancy." (I thought, wow, that's something.) He said, "Who has a sign? Let me see the signs." A bunch of signs were held up. He pointed at maybe a dozen of them and said, "Put them down, you're not taking them. There's vulgarity on their signs. You're also not allowed to say anything vulgar, and if somebody hits you, you're not allowed to hit them back. We're here to protest the racist platform of the Democrats in this convention. We want to be the good guys."

As I look back, it was important. At the time it was just something to do, but you know that's how life works out. You never know what's important and what's not, until years later. Sponsored by the Caylor Group Wealth Management in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Call 434-455-7197.

  • "Back to the 5th grade!" by Steve Adams

"Back to the 5th grade!" by Steve Adams

Recently, I was invited back to a local school to present some basic electrical lessons to the 5th graders.

The required points included magnetism, conductors and insulators and open and closed circuits.  I also have visual demonstrations that show these concepts to the kids and I try to make the whole program interactive.

I always take questions from the students.  Some wanted more details on 3D printing concrete and others commented on how they had an electric heat pump at their home.  The majority were curious about the travel aspect.  They asked about what food was my favorite or if I had seen Giraffe while in Africa.  Others wanted to know how I communicated with non-English speakers in Germany.  One wanted to know if I had seen Mt Everest while in Nepal.

All of us have curiosity, but many never have the chance to be encouraged to explore that curiosity.  I am sure the kids learned about electricity, but I was more pleased they learned how it can lead to a larger world of experience.

  • Jan 15 Jan 6 2021 Emerging Truth

    Jan 15 Jan 6 2021 Emerging Truth

The longer I live, the more I see that history has a way of discovering the truth, no matter how long it takes. Maybe we'll even find out who killed JFK.  But it seems we're already finding out that January 6th, 2021 will go down in history as the day the government staged a riot to cover up the fact that they certified a fraudulent election. We should never forget the jailing of the January 6th defendants was the first time in American history where the federal government made Americans into political prisoners. That's what dictators do to citizens who say or do the wrong political thing.  My friend Diane Gruber knew that the men demanded Biden be sworn in, and that the Deep State was turned against the American people. The persecution continued the entire four years. I would have voted for Mr. Trump just to see those political prisoners pardoned.

  • Jan 14 Reporting crime is a crime
Jan 14 Reporting crime is a crime

If you think things are bad where you live, maybe you should try Seattle for a while. I just read that the new mayor of Seattle is going to prosecute people who make any complaints against Somalis who are actually committing crimes.  You're not allowed to call the police if you see one committing a crime. You will be accused of a hate crime.  Fraud isn't allowed to be uncovered in Seattle.  And the mayor put out an edict. "We will not tolerate anyone who tries to intimidate, harass, or film Somali child care providers."  The problem is when they film those child care centers, there's no children there.  It's also a hate crime to expose fraud that is costing American taxpayers literally hundreds of billions of dollars each year. And it's destroying our country.

  • No straight white men please!

Jan 13 No straight white men please

I'm a straight white male, just like the millions of other straight white males that are being persecuted. For instance, my friend John applied for a position with the government for which he was overqualified.  But they told him, "No, we're going to use you to train the DEI hires." Problem is, those DEI hires, which are under qualified, are now going to be paid more than the guy who knows the job and has been ordered to train them.  It seems their only qualification is: they're not straight white men, and probably they're not Christians either. Christianity is another bad thing in the new America.  It bugs me that the DEI hires don't have to follow the rules and get promotions in spite of doing a mediocre job. And I'm hoping Mr. Trump can put an end to this tyranny.

  • Professional rioters - AGAIN!

    Jan 12 Professional rioters again

Well, it appears that the professional protesters and rioters and burners and looters have found another cause. And once again, George Soros and his minions are going to pay them well to burn, loot, kill and cause mayhem wherever they go. A few years ago, it was career criminal George Floyd who died of a legal police technique to subdue him. But he was so full of fentanyl, the coroner said it was three times the amount to kill him. Nonetheless, cities were burned. Now, it's ICE and the flyers are out. Get ready to kill the ICE agents. And while they riot on behalf of illegal aliens, they're also going to riot on behalf of a narco terrorist being kidnapped by President Trump. Riots that have no place in a civilized society. But the left just isn't civilized.
