Psalm 90 reminds us of an important truth we often try to ignore: our time on earth is limited. While God is eternal and unchanging, our lives move quickly and are gone before we realize it. That’s why the psalmist prays, “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” In other words, help us live with an awareness that every day matters. It’s easy to waste time chasing things that ultimately do not last, assuming we will always have more opportunities later. But wisdom comes when we recognize that life is short and choose to use the moments God has given us for His purposes. Because God is eternal, we can stand firmly on His unchanging truth and faithfully do the work He has called us to do today. Don’t waste the time you’ve been given—live intentionally for the glory of God.
