  • Teachers in Transition - Episode 136 - Don't Let Who You Are Define Who You Want to Become

    Send us Fan Mail

Many teachers feel stuck when they start to think about leaving the classroom. They can't imagine what else they are "qualified" to do, and it makes them feel helpless and even hopeless.

In this week's episode, Kitty urges people to not let who are ARE define who they want to become. When transitioning from one career to another whether it is teaching or any other career, imagine what you would like to do instead and then plot out a way to help you get there.

What you do now does not need to limit you to one particular path in life. Listen to see what Kitty has to say about that.

  • Teachers in Transition - Episode 135 - Kinds Of Stress You May Experience

    Send us Fan Mail

There are three kinds of stress that you may experience at any point in time:  acute anxiety, episodic stress, and chronic stress.

Since the pandemic arrived, it has occurred to me that we have all gone from experiencing the whole gamut. We've gone from acute stress to episodic stress to chronic stress all at once and we are all experiencing it collectively.

The point is that you should be aware of the different kinds of stress and their effects on your body, mind, and spirit.

This week's episode is about how we respond to stressful events and the harm that chronic stress can cause to the human body and mind.

  • Teachers in Transition - Episode 134 - Job Hunting is Never "Fast" or "Easy"

    Send us Fan Mail

We have gotten so conditioned to "instant gratification" that when things don't happen as fast as we want them to, we get impatient. "Why is it taking so long?"

Our impatience can pop up when a website is too slow in coming up, when the service in a restaurant is slow or when a slow-moving line at Starbucks wears your patience thin.

It's no different when it comes to job hunting, but unfortunately, job hunting takes time and is every as "easy" or as fast as you would like it to be.

In this episode, Kitty talks about how you need to be prepared to do the work and work through the process of a successful job search. It may take time, but if you spend quality time figuring out what you want to do and then go for it, your chances of success expand exponentially.

  • Teachers in Transition - Episode 130 - How to Write Your Resume

    Send us Fan Mail

Many teachers think that when they want to change jobs, they need to write a resume that sums up everything they have done throughout their careers. The problem is that your resume that is all about your teaching experience may not be the proper resume for the job you are applying for.

This episode points out how teachers should approach writing their resumes. And for those who may be interested in inexpensive training, you may want to check out a recorded workshop on "Writing a Resume that Will Get You Out of the Classroom."

It's available for $45, and there is an optional add-on for a video review of your resume and an additional add-on for a one-on-one session for $50.

    Check it out at https://boitnottcoach.samcart.com/products/writing-a-resume-that-will-get-you-out-of-the-classroom/

  • Teachers in Transition - Episode 129 - Your Stress is Your Responsibility

    Send us Fan Mail

I know you might not like to hear it, but if you are constantly stressed out, you need to look in the mirror to see the real culprit. At the end of the day, you are the only one who can do something about your stress. You either give up something so you have less on your plate to manage or you continue to juggle so many things that you wind up making yourself sick.

You are the only one who can manage your stress. And if your job is the source of your stress, you either change the way you approach your job or you change your job.

If you are thinking you want this to be your last year in the classroom, I am offering a free workshop on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 7:00 PM EST. If you are interested in attending click here:  https://event.webinarjam.com/register/44/v97m4tv5.
