On April 15 Prime Minister Scott Morrison took to the media to undermine state premiers and teachers and pit parents against teachers during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The federal Coalition government is exerting a lot of pressure on states to re-open schools yet what is the reality on the ground for School Teachers working in the midst of a health pandemic?

This episode of Green Left features a round-table discussion with school teachers Mary Merkenich, David Linden, Vivian Messimeris. All three are union activists and members of Socialist Alliance. Here they discuss the issues of: whether or not it's safe to re-open schools; their responses to the pressure from the Federal government; and how are schools that are open should address health and safety for workers and students.
