Gear up everyone. Brenna read the Sarah J. Maas series A Court of Thorns and Roses, and she has a lot of thoughts.
She read them 3 times and is more than ready to talk about it. These books have got the millennial generation in a chokehold, and we are here to find out why.
There are 1 or 2 spoilers, but we give you a heads up beforehand.
Teaching can get really lonely. Lost in a crowd, ya know? We have been lucky finding our teacher people, and we have some tips on how to find yours and why it's so important.
Technical difficulties are in abundance when you're recording from 2 different states.
This episode was recorded right after the holiday break, so it's a little late. But listen as we tell you about Utah vs Texas, and why school breaks are absolutely crucial to teenagers.
Did you miss us?
With Brenna's cross-country move, and Aubrie getting her masters, we accidentally took a break. But we're back!
Hear what's up with us, and know that we will start uploading on the regular again! (after the holidays of course)
With a new year here, we figured we would talk about our first year as teachers. What we did wrong, why we think it went so poorly, and commiserating in our trauma. First year teachers have it rough. If you know a teacher about to start their first year, buy them some treats to keep in their desk, and some extra whiteboard markers.
*Apologies about the choppy audio*
This episode might be better titled "Brenna and Aubrie don't get along with others".
Ever had a bad roommate? Us too.
Brenna's turn for a book review. World War Z would be an incredible addition to the classroom, so come hear why Brenna thinks it would be fun. Because her opinion is the only one that matters here.
What do teachers even do over the summer? Netflix? Absolutely. Sleep? All the time. Get paid? Definitely not.
We wanted to talk about what teachers really do over the Summer, because it's not all TV and junk food. We also talk about why breaks are crucial for not just teachers but students as well. So, join us for a slow paced episode all about Summer!
Harry Potter, Twilight, and Dystopias. As 90's kids, is pretty widely known that these 3 Young Adult phenomenons shaped us people. In this episode we dive in to why we think it shaped our generation, and what about Young Adult Literature is so timeless and popular. And yes, we do talk about our Hogwarts houses. Would you expect anything less?
Back into the groove of teaching, we are talking about our favorite teacher strategies. These are some of the strategies that we use that are absolutely debatable, but we have found success in. If you're unsure about the way you run your classroom, give this a listen and hopefully you will feel more validated to be who you are in your room. Every teacher is different, so every classroom is different.
