An Elder is not a gift, it's an office. They should be mature enough that when someone points out their sin, they are able to correct it; they can't afford to wallow in sin. Elders aren't worthy of honor just because they're elders, they are worthy of honor because they are Christians who have met the standard of becoming an elder and therefore use their honor for the glory of God (Part 3 of 3).

One of the traits of the solid Christian life is the man or woman of God understands their responsibility within this world’s network. We understand that there are traits and characteristics that have to follow our lives—with no excuse. For example, the Christian today must pray, they must study the Word, they must have the ability, willingness and preparation to fight.
