However, these are characteristics that we all, as believers, should govern our lives by.  Our goal shouldn't  be desiring leadership, rather it should be one of living a Christian life. The church should be a continual reservoir, filled with believers who are ready, at any moment to be deployed into service and responsibility.

The fight for believers isn't over until the Lord calls us home. There are no cease fires in a spiritual war. When we're in right standing with God, we will fight for the right things!
