For this episode, we’ve got the crew from Waypoint Angler Supply joining us. These guys are tackle experts, and have years of experience in the industry. We’ve got the legend himself, Juicy Jay Carlson, who’s got more tournament experience and success than the rest of us combined. Jay has won more boats than most would buy over their lifetime, and he never holds back the goods. Along with Juicy J, we’ve got the owner and founder himself, Ross Kellermeier, who’s turned dreams into reality over the past year with his new bass fishing wonderland: Waypoint Angler Supply, the new Mecca for bass fishing addicts like you and me. Joining those two is MLF media man, Wpt employee, and swimbait enthusiast Erik Gaffron, as well as a special feature from Waypoint Willy, also known as mothercluckin' Wilfred Charles the 3rd Jr.

Two sledgehammers showed up for this episode, and they brought their big checks. They won the first two Champions Tour events in 2023. Joel Willert won on Big Stone Lake, and also secured Team Of The Year for the MNBN Team Trail. Jacob Novak won on the Whitefish Chain, and has been knocking on that 1st place door. I’m honored to compete against these guys, who have proven they are some of the best to wet a line in this state. Enjoy!
Karen Savik is one of the first female anglers to ever compete on a national stage. Competing in the FLW Pro Tour, Everstarts, and all the top trails in the Midwest, she’s proven herself to be the most dangerous female angler in the Midwest. She's the best female I’ve ever fished against, taking my lunch money since I was a kid.
The 2023 Bassmaster College Series Team of the Year, Easton Fothergill and Nick Dumke, stopped by the Bass Galaxy HQ for an intergalactic, bassin' conversation. These two hammers hail from Grand Rapids, MN, and have earned themselves quite a reputation at a young age. Now going into their senior year at Montevallo, these two have a bright future in our sport. These two earned their National ranks in the Bassmaster College Series, but it all started at the high school level with the Grands Rapids HS fishing team. Locally today, Easton and his dad fish the MNBN Team Trail, recently winning the Leech Lake event. Nick works with Wired2Fish as a videographer. Enjoy as we talk everything from girls & livescope, to aliens.
Mark Raveling is a pioneer for the sport of bass fishing in Minnesota and beyond. He is also the Minnesota STATE RECORD holder for Largemouth Bass. Mark has won it all, from the Fort Francis Canadien Bass Classic, to the Don Shelby’s, and many more. Mark also invented the My-Wedge Transom Saver and raised a whole family of really good anglers. Joining as a co-host, is Dean Nalezny, a personal mentor of mine who got paired with Mark Raveling a few times back in the day.
The Classic Bass Champions Tour staff joined us at Jack's cabin for a preview of the upcoming season.
These two hammers, Kyle Minke & Kyle Schutta, fishing the MLF Invitationals this year, stopped out to the Bass Galaxy mothership for some drinks, laughs, and even a little ping pong. I have the utmost respect for these two anglers who each own their own style, and are proving it at a national level. Minke hails from the walleye fishing community, but found his niche in the bass game early on, finding success at both the regional and national level. Schutta has been dominant in Minnesota, most notably in the north metro and Classic Bass Champions tour. He is one of not too many, along with Minke, to find success on some of the most famed fisheries in the country for tournament bass fishing. Oh, and we got a little rowdy. Cheers! Enjoy.
You can’t beat connecting with fishing buddies. For this episode, YouTube sensation, Sam Sobi, and Boy-Wonder, Chad Smith stopped out to the Bass Galaxy HQ for some rocket testing. These two basstronauts are far from ordinary, and have accomplishments that many fishermen dream about. Sam Sobi is a YouTube sensation, but also a stone-cold bassin' freak, fishing the Classic Bass Champions tour this upcoming season. Boy-Wonder, Chad Smith, has competed at all levels of our sport, and has won more on the co-angler side than anyone I know. He is also fishing champions tour in 2023. Also joining as a co-host, is my close friend Justin Pinkerton (JP), who catches bass & does bass boat videography for a living. This was a great convo full of laughs, and proper bassin' talk. Enjoy!
Bassmaster Elite Series Pro and professional guide on Lake Mille Lacs, Josh Douglas, joined us for this episode and needless to say, we went to the depths of the Bass Nerdery. Josh is someone I’ve looked up to since I was a kid, as both a true fishing professional and business professional. Josh’s story of perseverance and determination is inspiring to any aspiring fishing pro. He’s a forward thinking dude, has his own style, and blazed his own trail on both the fishing and business front.
