TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ SEV DAH

Berlin, Detroit, Birmingham and, of course, Sarajevo.

Bosnian-built and -bred Sev Dah may be a Swedish expat, but the Balkan blackness clings strongly to the bleak percussions and rigidly uneasy synthetics that unwillingly fuse into his strongly individual take on techno. Authentically purveying the pulsations of the nakedly throbbing and ugly world, far away from Starbucks and H&M.

Sev Dah is a versatile but headstrong DJ that can gently ease a thumb in at midnight or fervently thrust it down the hatch at peak time.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ BORIS

Boris is kind of a charismatic, multifunctional weapon in the Berlin club life.

His musical roots reach back to the mid 80s, when he lived in New York for four years where he absorbed the unique spirit of the seminal club Paradise Garage weekend after weekend. From the Club’s mentor Larry Levan Boris learned to believe in his musical intuition as well as a broad musical spectrum, which nowadays ranges from Disco, Hi-NRG, Post-Punk and (Kraut-) Rock to House and Techno, all of which Boris loves to throw into one set.

Many years later, Boris became a resident at Panorama Bar’s first incarnation in Berlin, where he was able to build a loyal following by playing long sets lasting until noon.

After the old OstGut/Panorama Bar closed in 2003, Boris played in almost every club in Berlin, but when the follow up club Berghain opened its doors in 2004, he quickly focused on playing out here again. From 2005 till 2010 he had another musical platform, as he was taking care of the label Careless Records as an A&R. As a DJ, he is not exactly keen on refining a certain genre, but rather to push music with a certain twist.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ TRIPEO

Over the years, Tripeo has edged out an exceptional corner of the techno spectrum for himself. Brought to life as Darko Esser’s puristic alter ego, he has gradually returned to his namegiver’s eclectic roots, while also delving deeper into his musical metier. Each new Tripeo track is a clever patchwork of pulsating rhythms and minimalistic melodies – seemingly simple, yet utterly refined.

Darko Esser’s devotion to electronic music spans several decades. He has built his international reputation based in two small, but tight-knit music communities in Holland. First as a talent buyer at Groningen’s Simplon, later as a booker and resident of Doornroosje in Nijmegen.

Productionwise, Darko Esser has first brought out a string of superb releases under his own name, including his debut album, also called ‘Balans’. Tripeo’s ‘First Trip’ in 2012 was meant as somewhat of a side project. But soon enough, his new monicker struck a chord with connoisseurs worldwide. Especially when he unleashed his critically acclaimed album ‘Anipintiros’ in 2014, making him a household name from Berlin to Buenos Aires, and from Great-Britain to Georgia.

Georgia’s Tblisi is one of the remarkable places abroad where Darko has found a deeper connection with the local crowd. The fearless determination and graceful open-mindedness of Bassiani’s techno community have been an inspiration in both his DJ sets and productions. It makes perfect sense for him to release his most diverse Tripeo album to date on the club’s esteemed label. Further exploring the crossroads between fierceness and vulnerability, ‘Green Is the New Red’ incorporates experimental escapades like electro and ambient. Relentless and emotionally charged, this is Tripeo at his most compelling.
