There are many organizations out there that try to promote the use of technology in education, however, the non-profit International Society for Technology in Education (or ISTE), is considered the leader in this. Erin Dowd, Program Manager for ISTE, joins Chris Hoang and Cathy Rodriguez as we discuss digital citizenship, the ISTE standards, and what the seal of alignment is.
Erin Dowd has been an educator, education consultant, writer, and presenter for almost two decades. She holds a master’s degree in Global and International Education from Drexel University. She frequently presents at conferences worldwide, including ISTE, ASCD Empower, and AFS on global education and creativity topics. She is a founding ambassador of the Teach SDGs movement and serves on the advisory board for Honduras Child Alliance. Most recently, she published her debut middle grade mystery novel titled Shipshape and is currently working on her second. A former classroom teacher and curriculum director in the Netherlands, US, India, and Honduras, Erin has spent her career working to provide equitable education for students all over the world. She is currently the Program Manager for Seal of Alignment at ISTE.
