If you're in the USA your internet is probably not as fast as it should be, especially in comparison to a lot of the world. Some good news though, it has gotten a lot faster on average since last year!

Comcast thinks that you should be charged a premium for privacy... what? AT&T actually already charges a large fee for "privacy".

There is a family that happens to live almost in the middle of the country. They have been victim to their house being the default location for IP mapping. When the origin of an IP cannot be accurately located beyond the country of origin, their location happens to be where it points to. They have had many unwanted visits from government officials, doxxers, scammers, and so on.

Do you like Windows? I think the answer is becoming more and more no. Microsoft has been doing many things that aren't so nice recently. Windows 10 anniversary update removes the ability to disable Cortana. Some things in Group Policy Editor can no longer be disabled as well as in the registry, among many other things they shouldn't have done.

Welcome to episode 9 of this little thing we like to do.

We have a great episode for you guys this week!

I talk about deploying surveillance cameras at my house. It's the first time I have messed with anything like that.

David and myself are planning on messing with Kali Linux and possibly doing a bonus podcast discussing what we've learned. We aren't very experienced in that area. We're looking forward to expanding our knowledge base.

Kurt talks a bit more about his work in the movie theater industry as well as his future plans now that he has moved on from there.

Did you know that VHS is still a thing? I didn't. Apparently the last company to make them has finally closed it's doors.

You soon may be able to get a Tron style bicycle with some pretty interesting features, but with a pretty steep price tag.

There's a lot of very interesting things on the horizon coming from Elon Musk at Tesla. We're very interested in seeing what comes of his new factory and how the second part of his "master plan" unfolds.

We didn't talk much security this week but there is quite a nasty vulnerability with lower end wireless keyboards. It allows an attacker to intercept all key strokes from hundreds of feet away with a very simple attack vector. The worst part about it is there is basically no fix for it.

Hey everyone! Thanks for joining us for yet another episode of Tech Overlords Podcast. This was not a typical episode this week. We didn't really touch on much news. We just hung out and chatted about random stuff, I hope you like it!

Pokemon Go is becoming a problem! I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing about it like we are so this is probably the last time we will mention it.

Tesla is in muddy waters due to multiple car crashes recently which happened while their Autopilot feature was enabled. Who's responsible? 

Netflix on plays content in 1080p in Microsoft Edge but not other browsers, and no one really knows why?

CBS/Paramount says they are happy to see Star Trek fan films, however their new guidelines seem to contradict that.

Visiting a website or sharing a password can be considered illegal now.

He doesn't seem to think he is needed on the show after listening to last episode when he wasn't on, but we do! He was missed last episode so we are glad that he's back.

The AMD RX 480 is officially out and in the hands of reviewers and consumers. Some interesting results have been coming in pertaining to it's performance

A man claims he invented the iPhone in 1992 and has filed a lawsuit against Apple. Good luck with that.

A woman won a lawsuit against Microsoft over a Windows 10 upgrade on her computer.

And conveniently about the same time Microsoft has removed some of it's aggressive Windows 10 upgrade tactics, but not really that much.

There's an interesting new show coming to HBO called Westworld.

We also discuss a little bit of home theater and home automation related topics.

Episode 4 has arrived!

We're back at it again with another episode! Unfortunately Kurt couldn't make it so it's just me and Nathanael. Kurt should be back for the next episode.

With the location change of our recording situation and not being sure on what day we want to record Kurt had made other plans. I think we have it all hammered out now so things should be much more consistent in the future.

It was kind of a slow week for tech news considering we're just coming off of Computex and got a flood of awesome new stuff coming out.

We talk some about the AMD RX480 that will be coming out very soon!

New Star Trek bridge simulator game! I may have to get a VR headset just for that.

The GTX 970, 980, and 980Ti may be a hard sell now with the GTX 1070 being so comparable in performance to the 980Ti at a much nicer price point.

We've been watching a lot of great movies lately. It feels like there's almost an epidemic of sequels or remakes of movies that were already great. Not that I don't enjoy some of these, but sometimes it feels like people are running out of original ideas.
