Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) What is it? Why do people use it? What's the movement about? In this video, we're going to explore some of the reasons to switch to free and open source software--outside of the obvious security, privacy, and cost benefits.
This video/guide will cover data ownership, community, and freedom from a central company or entity. These are all strong ideas of the FOSS movement; give the USER the control, not proprietary software from Apple, Google, or Microsoft. FOSS will also prevent security exploits by publicly allowing thousands of eyes to review the code, and people can check for improper data collection and/or backdoors.

Mitch's Place has responded with once again...completely false information. I am settling this with a much more in-depth video breaking down everything you need to know about VPNs, Techlore affiliations here on the channel, logging, and most importantly: my mother's cookies. Leave any questions in the comments below and I'll be sure to get back to you 👍

ATTENTION: I have FULLY addressed these concerns in their own updated video:
Does NordVPN and IPVanish log and sell their user's data?? That's what one YouTuber has claimed. How valid is this? Should you be concerned? Find out here on Techlore in this less than interesting response video (debunk) of these wild claims.

Should you be pirating and cracking your software? Is getting programs like Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, Photoshop, and anything else moral and socially accepted? This question may be more complex than it seems.
Disclaimer: Pirating software is illegal, and there can be consequences to doing it.

Do you need to encrypt your hard drive or solid state drive using an encryption tool like Bitlocker, FileVault, or Veracrypt for your Windows or MacOS laptop/desktop? ABSOLUTELY! In this Techlore video tutorial/guide, I discuss and demonstrate the reasons why it is an absolutely necessity for you to encrypt your drives in order to properly secure your files, programs, and operating system from a basic attack involving booting into a live Linux distribution and mounting any unencrypted drive without your password. This can lead to viruses, keyloggers, identity theft, stolen documents/files, deleted documents/files, or writing illegal files which don't belong to you.

This is an extremely fast and simple hack/attack which can be done by any person who has a few minutes of physical access to your computer. This works on any version of Windows, any version of MacOS, and on both laptops and desktops as long as the drive is not encrypted. Even if you have a password to login! (A password is not drive encryption) This is a basic requirement if you hope to protect your digital security and privacy.

Additional Notes:
Does the common antivirus Windows Defender slow down or harm your computer's (PC) performance? In this video review, I test out the full performance impact of Windows Defender on your PC, whether a Windows laptop, desktop, tablet, or whatever product Microsoft invents which falls in between those devices. To test the service, I run a couple synthetic benchmarks, but also many real-life test including (but not limited to) launching and loading programs/apps, installing programs/apps, transferring files from different hard drives, and encoding/rendering with the Adobe suite.
How much does Windows Defender impact your computer's performance? Did the results surprise you? Leave a comment below with your thoughts!

Antivirus software is commonly believed to be a 100% necessity in protecting your PC (Windows desktops and laptops) from malware (viruses, ransomware, adware, etc...) My previous video explores this claim more in-depth, as well as addressing the counterargument, which claims you don't need an antivirus whatsoever. Hopefully this video will more or less settle the antivirus debate in the privacy and security community:
Do you need an antivirus software for your main computer? Are malware, viruses, adware, and ransomware still a threat? In this video guide/tutorial, I explain the benefits and drawbacks to using an antivirus service, as well as possible solutions for individuals out there looking for improved security. It's not a yes or no answer, but you should always have some form of backup protection, and antivirus programs are an excellent fallback in case you download or install a malicious file or program. This video will break down the pros and cons, give you the best solutions depending on your individual needs, as well as give the best reviewed services as of today. Thank you for watching!

Antivirus Attack Risk Sources:
Hello Techlore community, this video is going to break down some of the possible risks involved with the cryptocurrency (ICO) ArbiTraCoin. I have very much reason to believe that it is a scam, similar to the Bitconnect scam which recently struck the cryptocurrency market. Although there is no way to fully prove the scam, we can heavily speculate some of the issues with the service's software, 2% daily interest rates, anonymous team, and the similarities to Bitconnect. Let's try to make the cryptocurrency market a healthier place by encouraging transparency between projects and consumers 😃

I received an email from Arbitracoin looking for a paid review on my channel. I always respond with my default answer of no paid reviews on my channel, only honest reviews on projects I fully support. I asked lots of questions (already very suspicious) and received a document as a response to a lot of my unrelated questions. At this point...it was clear to me what was really going on here. I did more research on the website, whitepaper, emails, and documents...leading me to creating this video.
Bitconnect was an investment ponzi scheme which relied on lending between users, with guaranteed interest rates, and a software which runs the whole show. The software never existed, and the ponzi scheme finally fell apart, exposing the scheme for what it really was. We could possibly see a similar story with Arbitracoin, so BE CAREFUL!
Video tutorial showing how to become anonymous, hide you internet traffic and identity, and browse the web freely without any fear of privacy invasion or any security concerns from your Government, school, or organization (NSA, CIA, FBI). Go Anonymous today!
Going off the grid and becoming fully anonymous (hiding your online identity) is not 100% possible, because of how the internet works, but we can do everything we possibly can to get as close as possible to anonymous. In this video guide, I will show you how to secure all of your devices--such as computers, phones (iPhone vs Android), tablets, and anything else, by securing your passwords, using two factor authentication, securing your web browsers (Mozilla Firefox & Tor), using a VPN (NordVPN or AirVPN), securing social media (Facebook, Snapchat), your communication like texting and email (Signal and Protonmail encrypted messengers), your operating system (Linux), and much much more! I will also cover deleting a majority of your online identity/fingerprint to hide as much information about you as possible, in addition to give you tips on how to prevent social engineering attacks.

Now, some of you may ask why? Well, at a basic level, your privacy is constantly invaded by the websites you visit, your ISP, your government, your school/employer, and even services you use like Google or Facebook. Everything you do is being tracked and we aren't quite sure what consequences may result out of all of this data being created out of us. Some people also fear certain things like doxing, and other forms of leaks of your personal information. It is also common for corporations to sell your data for a profit, which is a complete violation of your privacy.
