It was a busy week in tech with FreeBSD 13.1 being released, hackers easily opening and starting Tesla's, Google vetting open-source software libraries for security, a ransomware gang trying to overthrow the Costa Rican government, and security warnings about VMWare products. But the best story had to be the Zambian bank's technical director who responded to a ransomware attack in a way many have wanted to for years. That'll teach 'em!

Just when it seemed Rocky Linux was down for the count in its fight with Alma Linux to fill the CentOS gap, it's back with $26M in new funding. In other news, the Technado team discussed Western Digital's new 26TB drive, Windows 11 22H2 updates, CBL-Mariner 2.0 and CBL-Delridge Linux distros from Microsoft, and Nvidia's open-source Linux drivers. Finally, they talked about the NSA's promise of no backdoors in the new US encryption scheme.

It was a good week for anyone who hates passwords, as Apple, Google, and Microsoft detailed their proposed Passkey standard. In other news, Microsoft Edge overtook Apple Safari, Asus unveiled some new keyboards, hackers took advantage of a BIG-IP vulnerability at F5, and WordPress sites are hacked within seconds of setup. Finally, they covered Heroku's admission that credentials were stolen in a recent attack.

It was another busy week in the tech world, with Microsoft announcing a built-in Cloudflare VPN in Edge, Verbatim rolling out a new write-once SSD, GRAID's new GPU-based NVMe, and an international 'Declaration for the Future of the Internet.' In Deja news, the guys gave an update on QNAP's remote hacking issues and the NTFS Linux driver. Finally, they rolled out a new segment called 'The More You Know' where they broke down where the tech giants make their billions.

The team was back together for a busy week of news. Canonical launched Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, OpenBSD 7.1 came out with Apple silicon support, Tape storage usage rose in 2021, Microsoft disabled SMB1 in Windows 11 home, and hackers found an unremovable malware for Lenovo devices. The guys took a break from the news to play tech movie trivia and then finished off by saying goodbye to macOS Server and Fleetsmith before covering a critical Java security blunder.

There was a ton of news to cover as Wes Bryan sat in for Don. Malaysia tested out using AI for court sentencing, Oracle released Solaris 11.4 "CBE," Insteon seemed to go out of business, Dell's DDR5 module locked out upgrades, and GitHub described the theft of OAuth user tokens. Finally, the team looked at T-Mobile's failed attempt to exclusively buy back its hacked data.

The Technado team moved into their new studios just in time to celebrate Windows 3.1's 30th birthday. In other news, the guys also discussed the US government secretly removing malware from private networks, Raspberry Pi OS dropping the default user for security, Sonnet's new PCIe adapter, and AMD GPU drivers overclocking CPUs without permission. Finally, they looked at the ongoing outage at Atlassian and discussed alternatives.

It was a big week for Technado as the guys hit their 250th episode and announced some changes to the show format to focus more on tech news. And speaking of news, it was a busy week. They discussed AlmaLinux coming to WSL, Microsoft adding Arm support to Azure VMs, the staggering amount of Chromebooks and iPads that went missing in Chicago, Samsung and Western Digital joining forces for ZNS SSDs, and Wyze Cam's handling of their security issues. In 'Who Got Pwned,' they dug into the issues at MailChimp before revisiting the Viasat modem attack in 'Deja News.'

To wrap up Cisco month, the Technado team was joined by Systems Architect David Alicea. He talked about the importance of documentation when designing and implementing a network. In the news, the guys covered a price drop for Asus GPUs, the Island Browser's unicorn valuation, the FCC blacklisting Kaspersky, and how Lapsus$ got around MFA. Finally, they discussed not one but two tech giants falling victim to embezzlement.

Cisco's Nick Russo joined Technado this week to share his journey from the military to networking expert. He also shared his views on a common misconception about MPLS and segment routing. Then, in the news, the team discussed AMD backing AlmaLinux, Windows 11 adding a watermark for unsupported devices, a new phishing technique using BitB, the scoop on the OVHcloud datacenter fire, and the ex CafePress owner being hit with a fine for poor security practices.
