In this first episode of the Technology Pioneers podcast I am at the Bits&Chips event in Eindhoven. The topic of this day is "challenges in complex software engineering". Different tracks discussing system behaviour, the engineering environment, cybersecurity and software rejuvenation make up for an interesting day. The technology pioneers today are the visitors and speakers this event. The line up is as follows:
Marcus Nissemark from Green Hills software talks with us on his talk about "Understanding complex embedded systems behavior"
Rosilde Corvino from TNO research joins me to discuss rejuvenation of software using Renaissance tooling. Insight in code complexity using meta programming plus the added insights with graph representations of code is a very nice pioneering feat.
Piërre van de laar continues the renaissance story with pointing out the open source nature of this project. Go to the renaissance-ADA GitHub page and you will find the dependency graph extractor (enables you to query your code to find those difficult legacy parts that need updating), rejuvenation (almost find and replace for auto updating old complex code to new constructions) and the rewriters libraries (after the updates you can use this to really structure your old code with pretty print and all).
Jos Hegge closes this podcast with everything you need to know on POOSL tooling. With POOSL it is possible to start validation as early as possible. The first try outs before writing a line of code can be done in the modelling environment of POOSL and validation can start.Enjoy the Technology Pioneers podcast and make sure you subscribe in your favourite podcast app so you don't miss out on the next episodes.
Technology Pioneers is a podcast that explores emerging technologies, dives head first into high tech product development and is curious about new uses of existing technology. This podcast is hosted by Tom van de Ven. Tom works as a principal solutions manager for Capgemini Engineering in the Netherlands and uses his curiosity to talk with the guests in this show.
