Dear Ted and Amy,

I'm 18 and about to start college. I've had a boyfriend for a year. We are going to different schools in a few weeks that are two hours away from each other. I am not sure what to do about my relationship. He's the only guy that I ever really dated; I don't know what I'd do without him. On the other hand, my friends make college dating sound like so much fun. A part of me wants to see what's out there, but I'm afraid I'll make the wrong choice and be unhappy without him. And I get really anxious thinking about him dating other people. What should I do - stay committed or break things off?
