Whether or not Jesus was successful is a very important subject for every Christian to understand. Because Jesus' life was a representation of God's perfect will and the ultimate example for every believer, the subject of His financial welfare should be crucially important to us. If He was poor, then it's God's will for every believer to be poor. If He had financial abundance, however, then that can (and should) be the story of our lives as well.
According to Deuteronomy chapter 28, poverty is the result of disobedience to God's divine instructions. Jesus was never disobedient to His heavenly Father or the voice of the Holy Spirit. His total obedience would ensure that the blessings of Heaven would flood His life and ministry.
