  • 81 The Inspiring Type

Today, we are diving into the second basic personality type of the DISC model of human behavior, the (I) Inspiring personality type.

The Inspiring type is outgoing and people oriented. They are very inspiring, and make people feel great when people are around them. When there is a group of people around, the "I" type is the last person to leave. They like to make things happen; they are stimulators, and agents of cause.

The Inspiring type is also very impressionable, and easily influenced. They can make great leaders, but in many respects they are also followers. They have such a strong desire for people to like them that they will do just about anything it takes to please other people.

  • 79 Build Your Confidence by Understanding Yourself

In my last episode, I talked a little about how confident people understand themselves. One of the best ways to go about understanding yourself and other people is a tool called the DISC Model of Human Behavior.

The DISC Model of Human Behavior is a tool to help you understand the deeper insights of your personality. In DISC, there are four basic personality types: (D) Dominant, (I) Inspiring, (S) Supportive, and (C) Cautious.

In the next four episodes, I will do a deeper dive into each of the basic personality types, and how you can use that information to build stronger relationships.

  • 78 How to be More CONFIDENT

One of the things that I talk about a lot on this podcast is confidence, and how it can help you create the life you want.

Here are 7 things confident people do differently:

    1. They know where to find happiness.
    2. They are not really interested in what everybody else is doing.
    3. They pick their battles.
    4. They know when to speak confidently.
    5. They look for challenge.
    6. They know how to fail.
    7. They do not need the spotlight.

The amazing thing about all of these traits is that they are so easy to develop in your own life by taking the time to build self-confident habits. You'll be amazed at how quickly you become one of those fantastic people who really believes in themselves.

  • 77 GOALS: Behavior focused VS Outcome focused

If we only focus on the outcome of our actions and goals we'll often end up disappointed. But if we can shift our focus to our behavior, to becoming WHO we want to be or the type of person who can achieve the goals we set for ourselves, we'll see infinite growth.

  • 76 The Power of POSITIVE Self Talk

Positive thinking and positive self talk can seem a little woo-woo, but when done right, it can radically improve your self confidence.

Zig Ziglar said it this way, "positive thinking will let you do EVERYTHING better than negative thinking".

One of the exercises I take teens through in the Teen Catalyst Experience is reframing negative self talk.

Instead of "I wish" or "I want", change it to "I will" and "I can".

  • 75 Which path will you choose?

In today's episode we talk about the typical teen's path to career, some statistics, and an alternative.

    • 70% of US Americans study at a 4-year college
    • 30% of college enrollees drop out after their first year
    • 56% never graduate
    • 27%, graduates who actually work in their degree field
    • $28,950, Average student loan debt (2019)
    • $25,2950, average cost of college per YEAR (tuition, book, transportation, meals, room & board, etc)

This translates to a LOT of people with massive amounts of debt for a degree they'll never use which they'll takes years and years to pay off.

What would it look like if you could design your career path BEFORE going to college. If you could discover what your gifts and talents are, know what you enjoy doing, and how you love to create value for others??

What would that mean for your future?

  • 72 The Importance of Self Care

Do you ever feel run down, overworked, and under-rewarded for that work? Often times, this comes from our own doing. Today, I want to talk about one antidote to these feelings: self-care.

Why should you care about self-care? Why is it important? How can it help you? Here are just two of the many benefits of self-care.

    • It’s been shown to reduce stress.
    • It can improve your mental health.

There are many self-care activities that you can do. Here are a few examples:

    • Yoga
    • Take a hot bath
    • Enjoy a cup of hot tea or coffee
    • Journaling
    • Meditation
    • Spirituality practices
    • Get a massage
    • Listen to calming music
    • Cut down on your screen time

Make sure to keep yourself healthy physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Self-care is a vital part of your health, so never be afraid to take some time for yourself.
