Teen Movie Time Machine

Happy New Years Teen Movie Time Machine Babes! Can’t think of a better way to ring in 2025 than by traveling back to 2003 to break down, From Justin to Kelly! Thank god we’ve got Chad Westbrook here to help us make sense of the insanity!

Is it a movie? Is it a musical? Is it Kelly Clarkson’s 9th circle of hell? It’s certainly unlike anything we’ve seen before or since. This movie has it all, spring break in Florida, zero chemistry, a whip cream bikini contest, friend betray, a hovercraft- off and of course a plot revolving around iconic old school text messaging.

n joy this 1

(Enjoy this one!!)

Hello TMTM lovelies! Against all odds we are back this week to talk about the Beyoncé vehicle, Austin Powers in Goldmember! Joining us for a SECOND time to talk about this film is Jordan Kulow!!

What can be said about this film? It is a movie of bits strung together to create what some could call, a plot?? Of course it’s wild costumes, wild accents, wild jokes, and more Mike Meyers then you can imagine. There’s some truly quotable quotes. It’s also the film that was set to take Beyonce’s film career sky high (Huge LOL- love you girl!)

This episode is about 20% talking about this film and 80% talking about growing up and all the nasty, normal, hilarious and embarrassing things that happen to you at a certain age…

Enjoy this one! YEAH BABYYYYYY

Welcome back to Teen Movie Time Machine, and welcome to the pop star capsule! On our first episode outside of DCOM’s we had to make it Britney, bitch. Ashley England is here to talk about the power of girls on a roadtrip and iconic karaoke and the in between when you’re “not a girl, not yet a woman.”

On a serious note, this is coming out on Election Day 2024. We hope this episode entertains and distracts you from the harsh reality of our world. We love you all.

Enjoy!!

WELCOME TO THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL and the last day of DCOM’s! The day has finally come to say goodbye to our insane, perfect, wonderfully nonsensical Disney Chanel Originals. It was only fitting to have Claire Woolcott here in the flesh to talk about, High School Musical 3!

We gather to watch, in person, a work of art this week. We talk high school romance, a once in a lifetime talent (Zachy E!) Claire’s disgust of Jake’s back hair, a senior show about your senior year where you declare what school you’re going to on stage??? And of course banger after banger. This is one of the greats!

Thank you for being on this ride with us, we can’t wait to get into more movies that spoke to our teenage souls. We love you all! “ Who says we have to let it go? It's the best part we've ever known. Step into the future. But hold on to….”

This week on TMTM we’re taking the stage one last time with The Cheetah Girls: One World. So of course, we had to get Sarah James back to the library to rent this one!

This movie is the embodiment of staying at a party too long. We had a great time but the party is OVER! For a movie that filmed on location, in India, for 4 months it surely doesn’t feel like it loll. We missed Raven big time, but at least we had Dorinda breaking up with her Spanish lover because…. “Phone bills”, Aqua falling in love with a tech guy who ends up being a prince and Chanel wondering if it’s time to go it alone. Also it’s Bollywood?? WILL THE CHEETAH GIRLS MAKE IT TO REMAIN CHEETAHLICIOUS?! Listen and find out!

This week on TMTM we HAD to bring in our multiverse aficionado, Aaron Perine to talk about Jett Jackson: The Movie!

At its core it’s a simple story about an action star who's convinced his hit TV show to take over his small town (which becomes the backbone of his community??). But in reality it’s the blending of reality and fantasy, it’s fictional characters in our world, real people in a fictional world, and more Jett Jackson’s than you can count.

We discuss everything from how ADORABLE Lee Thomas Young is, how Kayla finds herself, first jobs and the power of well fitted leather jacket.

This movie also has never received the credit it’s due for being the blueprint for some of Hollywood’s most impactful films. Very powerful stuff.

Enjoy!

This week on TMTM we are joined by Stevie Shale to break down Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam!

We dive deep into the ethics of hiring child camp counselors, the unironic love for a certain/perfect duet, and our own experiences at our (all christian???) summer camps.

At the end of the day we’re all just little girls and a little overwhelmed, so we really hope you enjoy this one!

This week on TMTM, we are… well, jumping in to Jump In! And thankfully Meghan Murphy is here to help us break it all down.

Who knew that double dutch is such an intense sport? Or that boxing involves so much back flipping? Not us! But we do know that Keke Palmer is a STAR, baby! We get into everything in this episode, from maybe or maybe not winning cheerleading nationals, to having been (or maybe currently being) a bully.

This week on our inaugural episode of Teen Movie Time Machine, we are joined by our sister Claire Woolcott to break down the most hallowed of films, The Lizzie McGuire Movie!

We talk about everything, from Lizzie’s matching shirt/sock combo, the intensity of “sing to me, Paolo,” and the dangers of pranks between siblings. Have fun and see you in two weeks!
