Our Special was founded in 1927, and is the most popular magazine published by National Braille Press. It comes out six times each year, and covers career issues, fashion, parenting, cooking, maternity, dating, health, and a panoply of other women’s issues. Each issue of the magazine includes articles written by and for blind women, and the slim and convenient pull-out recipe section, “Kitchen Corner.”

Kim Nova is delighted to be a columnist for OS, and recently was thrilled to become the publication’s newest editor. She’s excited to share more about Our Special, the types of content you’ll find in the magazine, how to obtain a subscription, and most of all, to introduce you to two of Our Special’s columnists, Sylvia Reid and Holly Turri, who write wonderful travel and book-related columns, respectively, for the magazine. Kim is so pleased to have the opportunity to share more about this unique magazine with blind women and the men who love us.
