    Today, TR reported that, Infobip, has completed the purchase of global Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider Peerless Network, having received federal and state level regulatory approvals. The acquisition enhances Infobip’s presence in the U.S. and enables the firm to expand its voice offering worldwide, creating a global one-stop shop for omnichannel communications. “We will now be able to expand our products and services to over 70 countries throughout the world”, says Rick Knight, EVP of Sales & Marketing for Peerless, noting as well that the announcement means a “ton of new services” for customers. • Cigent is focused on data security – When it is on the endpoint, in the cloud or shared with other people, Podcast
    The best way to stop ransomware from occurring in your company is to protect the data. Tom Ricoy, VP Sales, Public Sector and Alliances with Cigent discussed with Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication, how Cigent makes the data invisible. You cannot hold for ransom what you cannot see. This is done via a storage device – even at the sector level and can only be accessed by a trusted user.
    Tom Ricoy
    The device is one layer of the data security, they also have Zero Trust implemented at the file level requiring multi-factor authentication.
    Their data security includes:
    File encryption
    Secure file sharing
    Zero Trust file access
    In addition to the data level security, they are also monitoring and looking for the bad actors. Listen in for more details on technology and their successes.
    Cigent’s mission is to address advanced cyber threats by moving from a reactionary detect and respond approach to protecting the data itself with invisible, zero trust data protection that is unassailable to even the most sophisticated adversaries who have physical or remote device access.
    Stop physical data, stop ransomware, and remote attacks;
    EDR will fail. Cigent stops assailants from compromising data with zero-trust data protection.
    Stop physical data Exfiltration;
    Cigent protects endpoint data from sophisticated and persistent adversaries by rendering the data invisible.
    Protect data wherever it goes;
    DLP is complex to manage and too restrictive on users. Cigent protects individual files with secure file sharing and zero trust file access.

  • The PBX in a Microsoft Teams World, TeamMate Podcast
    We’re selling a product but we’re really selling a partnership
    “Voice is extremely relevant in a lot of businesses,” says Micah Singer, CEO of TeamMate Technology. Though new technologies have offered different ways for businesses and customers to communicate, there are many situations that require the “complex call control” afforded by a PBX. In this podcast we learn how TeamMate bridges an important gap that faces Microsoft Teams users who are looking for something or are needing something that exceeds what Teams and direct routing offers, at an out of the box level. Singer points out that of the three-hundred and twenty million users across the world, some type of PBX remains a part of the scene. TeamMate combines integration to the Microsoft Graph API, automated scripting of Microsoft PowerShell and marries it to the TeamMate Connector, a purpose-built interoperation layer that allows us to normalize communication with any SIP PBX, SIP Trunk or SMS gateway. Singer also discusses the company’s recent entrance into the Cloud Communication Alliance (CCA). Singer sees many current and potential partnerships with CCA companies, plus a chance to participate as the CCA works on industry wide issues. “We’re selling a product but we’re really selling a partnership,” says Singer.

  • Minimizing Cybersecurity Risks that Can Leave Your Customers Uninsurable, Podcast
    “Compliance drives a lot of decisions,” says Andy Anderson, CEO of DataStream Cyber Insurance. According to Anderson, an MSP should partner with a company offering cyber insurance, as both a way to help facilitate the sale of products and services, to fulfill the trusted advisor role, and as best practice. We also learn why MSPs need this coverage for themselves.
    Businesses are increasingly looking to the IT services community for insight on a variety of new issues in addition to the traditional services they’ve come to depend on. As in the case of cybersecurity, organizations want and need complementary types of support, including consultation on regulatory compliance, disaster recovery and risk assessment. But decision-makers are increasing turning to MSPs for insight into issues on the fringe of their areas of expertise — like cyber insurance — and some of those questions or requests may fall outside of a provider’s legal comfort zone.
    DataStream wants MSPs to use their cybersecurity risk assessment tools as a way to open the door to new business. They can leverage these tools to show SMB companies what their vulnerabilities are, then make recommendations for mitigation, in addition to recommending DataStream’s cyber security insurance.

  • The benefits of the circular economy for telcos, Podcast
    “There is an alternative, here”
    Every telecom operator has embraced the circular economy when it comes to the phone, according to Darren Pearce, Group CEO of TXO. Now the operator is absorbing that idea for the networking gear. Pearce tells us that now sales on the networking side of equipment that was previously in use, is becoming proactive. People are seeking out gear in the circular economy for both the end points and the networks in between. In this podcast we learn about the benefits that telcos obtain by sourcing a company such as TXO to get needed network gear. Over the past three years, TXO has become a routine source. We also learn how TXO is a company that smaller operators are finding both stock and price benefits from. “We are definitely seeing an influx of small operators who see our market as an alternative to the OEM,” says Pearce. One of the inventive services TXO provides equipment needy customers is what TXO calls “proactive mining”. The company will actively poll customers to see if a server, or part or product is not being used somewhere, and that it might be put back in use with a new customer. “It’s a bit like a dating game”, according to Pearce. We also learn that the modern secondary market is not about moving “hand me downs” from the first world economy to the developing world. Products coming off use, in the developed world, typically are “rehomed” somewhere else in the developed economies. “You will see this industry boom,” says Pearce, predicting that changing attitudes among both customers and investors are changing the way people view the secondary market. Investors are demanding companies go green and source companies such as TXO.

  • Viakoo enables IoT devices to maintain a Zero Trust capability through Remediation and Repatriation, Podcast
    The day you receive the IoT devices with the latest in Zero Trust hardware and software technology – they will probably already be out of date. Depending on the IoT device, they can spend months in the supply chain prior to being shipped to the end consumer.
    Bud Broomhead
    This is where Viakoo steps in to help those customers stay current. Bud Broomhead, CEO and Founder of Viakoo explains to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication, how most organizations will have dozens if not hundreds or thousands of different devices on their network. It is a daunting task to maintain Zero Trust with those devices when they are out of compliance with their specifications. Viakoo recently launched their Viakoo Action Platform, a suite of modules which ensures enterprise devices have vulnerabilities remediated, can rejoin the network safely, and function properly while meeting compliance.
    Listen in to Bud as he discusses the remediation process for all IoT network devices.
    IoT Security – Zero Trust – Governance
    As IoT devices become more prevalent, it is important to ensure that they are properly secured and governed. IoT Security refers to the various measures taken to secure IoT devices from unauthorized access and exploitation. Zero Trust is a security model that assumes that all users and devices are untrusted and must be verified before being granted access to resources. In the context of IoT, this means that all IoT devices must be verified and authenticated before being allowed to connect to a network or system. Governance is the process of ensuring that IoT devices are properly configured and used in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Good governance helps to ensure that IoT devices are used safely and securely, and that they do not pose a risk to the organization.

  • IPTECHVIEW develops VSaaS platform delivering surveillance that’s simple, Podcast
    “Nothing lumpy”
    Robert Messer says that his company, IPTECHVIEW, has made surveillance a business any MSP can get involved in, and that anyone in the end user company, that needs to, can access surveillance. IPTECHVIEW has developed a VSaaS (Video Surveillance as a Service) platform that drains complexity from everything from installation and launch to actual use. In this podcast we learn about the IPTECHVIEW, a scalable, cloud-based platform that permits growth without the need for servers or other on-prem boxes. “We felt what the MSP needed was something that can securely manage all that equipment without a PC,” says Robert Messer. “Its just cameras and cloud, no servers… nothing lumpy.”
    According to Messer, “Its a huge income opportunity.” The system can be white labeled, the MSP can add a services package, leading to excellent profitability. Messer also maintains that the ability to improve customer loyalty might be an even bigger benefit.
    By draining complexity and time-consuming, labor-intensive processes, IPTECHVIEW improved the profitability of jumping into the space. For MSPs and others, who might have historically been tied to a phone selling model, IPTECHVIEW offers an entrance into a new portfolio category without the overhead of staff training, certifications, and the old school vendor “university” model. The platform aims to be very plug and play, with no need for manuals. “We wanted it that people didn’t need a manual,” says Messer. “We wanted to democratize surveillance.”
