  • Podcast: Swim.ai processes streaming data eliminating the need for data storage
Currently, the volume of data that is being generated per day is mind boggling. Bring in 5G and the amount becomes supper intense/hyper intense. What do companies do with it all and where do they keep it? Simon Crosby, CTO at SWIM.AI enables carriers and enterprise to process the data while it is streaming to make decision and then let the data dissolve into the clouds.

Simon goes on to answer questions from Don Witt, of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication:

    Simon Crosby

Is 5G mostly of benefit to consumers, carriers or are the enterprise use cases driving it?
How do carriers ensure that business customer QoS is delivered?
So, there is a need to move toward on-the-fly processing of data?
Do you have a good example? Palo Alto, CA traffic system example is great!

Swim was founded in 2015 by the creators of the open source swimOS platform. • Podcast: Jabra updates Evolve to meet new challenges of work and home
Jabra’s Evolve line was built based on research into how people work and live, and how the different activities of the day might involve wearable technologies. Created in 2014 in part to offer a line of products that could match the new open workspaces, Jabra this month refreshed the line. The update includes the release of three new products, Evolve2 85, Evolve2 65, and Evolve2 40 and an update to the overall feature set.

In this podcast, Jabra senior director of global product marketing, Bjoern Ekner gives us an overview of the update and then discusses how the product line matches the needs of the situation many information workers now find themselves in. “Work and life is blending,” says Ekner. Ekner outlines that collaboration, concentration, and flexibility are key Evolve deliverables. The line is designed to be comfortable and to offer users the option to play music or other audio, thereby creating a private space for users challenged by distraction at home. Noise cancellation technologies help mitigate the sounds of home. Meanwhile, Jabra’s Evolve tightly integrates with Teams. With full access to all Teams features, organizations can help distributed workers restore the collaboration they might be missing from on-prem workspaces. Ekner discusses how the products are plug and play and are designed to work with Zoom and may also work with Avaya, Cisco and other platforms. Ekner makes the point that Evolve is designed to be an attractive, comfortable and enjoyable experience so that workers will want to use the product as opposed to feeling compelled to do so.

  • EDUcast: Best Practices During Today’s Pandemic: Managing the Collaboration & Contact Center Experience
    by Gary Audin

During this COVID-19 pandemic, nearly every organization has to contend with significant changes in how they communicate. There are far more remote workers and contact center agents that have been distributed since most workers cannot perform their jobs on site. This makes the management of the voice, video, and collaboration networks even more important. The analysis of the network and its changed operation requires the tools that can look back at call history and present real-time data of the network health.

Tim Armstrong, VP of Product Management at Nectar www.nectarcorp.com and Gary Audin recorded this EDUcast to delve into the issues and problems of managing networks during the pandemic. Tim covers:

Why quality management can boost user communication satisfaction
Where and why problems occur with vastly increased VPN usage
How to locate stress on network capacity that may not be visible
What can dashboards display and how new displays can help with management
What tools are available to test and simulate contact center operations
The three domains of effective UCC network management

What you will learn in this EDUcast:

    Key Use Cases

    UCC Quality Management
    Capacity Management
    Registrations Management
    Reporting & Dashboards

  • Podcast: New situation turns IT into an essential service
Industry expert calls on MSPs to recession proof themselves, build high value added based recurring income

In the midst of global crises, Chris Wiser, CEO of the Wiser Agency thinks that, for many enterprises and organizations, events have transformed IT from a luxury or a tangential exercise, into an “essential service”. In the midst of a sudden economic downdraft, Wiser thinks that the MSPs have ways to insulate their businesses from the storm and recession proof themselves for the future. In this podcast, Wiser discusses how his company offers the “7 figure stimulus program”, a path for MSPs to immediately boost income by talking to the customers they already have and by offering those customers needed services. As Wiser points out, no one needs to promote the distributed workforce model.
