Martin早年就来美国留学，我们认识的时候他已经在波士顿大学（BU）读研究生了。我们一起去团契、一起合租、一起去CVS用coupon省钱。作为留学生、现在的第一代移民，最让我惊讶的是他说他后悔没有学好语文。

Martin came to the U.S. to study at a young age. When we met, he was already pursuing his graduate degree at Boston University. We went to church fellowship together, were roommates, and even used coupons at CVS together. As an international student who is now a first-generation immigrant, what surprised me the most was when he said he regretted not studying Chinese more seriously.

I met Harrison in 2019 during one of my business trips to Houston. Over time, as he changed jobs and seasons of life, our bond in Jesus only grew stronger.

This is a very open and deep conversation with Harrison. At first, I thought we were different—he came from an affluent background, and I didn’t. But I was wrong. We are both from the same family—God’s family.

It was love that saved both of us, across the ocean, from the beginning to the end.

我一直很好奇Eddie去了上海之后的生活。从初中、高中、大学到研究生，我们的轨迹越来越不同。从18岁那年在上海匆匆一别，到2012年底在美国波士顿重逢，那时我刚在福音营信主。

但这次的对话让我深深感受到：神让我们重逢，不只是地理上的在美国，更是在灵里——在基督里重逢。我很感恩能够听见神如何一步一步带领Eddie的生命。神真是信实的。阿们。

I’ve always been curious about Eddie’s life after he moved to Shanghai—middle school, high school, college, graduate school. Over time, our paths drifted further apart. We said a rushed goodbye in Shanghai at age 18, and didn’t reunite until the end of 2012 in Boston, where I had just come to faith through a gospel camp.

But through this conversation, I realized that our reunion wasn’t just in the U.S.—it was in Christ. I’m so thankful to hear how God has faithfully led Eddie all these years. Truly, God is faithful. Amen.

2024年7月4日，受孙稀凝（Eddie）的热情邀请，我们一家来到了达拉斯。这一周我们有很多相处的时间，结果真正录音的机会却少之又少。我们两个工作的父亲只能在孩子上学或午睡的间隙，抓住片刻，来一起回忆我们的童年。

我们1997年在广西桂林市滨江小学相识，从一年级到六年级一直是同班同学，两家只隔一条街。这次聊天让我意识到：即使身处同一时空、经历相同事件，不同的人从中看到的、感受到的却完全不同。这就是回忆访谈的魅力——好像重新认识了当年的发小，也重新认识了当年的自己。

On July 4th, 2024, our family was warmly invited to Dallas by Eddie (Sun Xining). We had a week full of time together, but ironically, very little time for recording. As two working fathers, we had to steal moments during school hours or naptime to reflect on our childhood.

We met back in 1997 at Binjiang Primary School in Guilin, Guangxi. From first to sixth grade, we were in the same class, and our families lived just a street apart. Through this conversation, I realized something powerful: even when you share the same time and place, and go through the same events, the way we experience and interpret them can be very different.

That’s the beauty of reminiscing—it’s like getting to know your childhood best friend all over again… and rediscovering yourself along the way.

Thank God, I recently found a five-page handwritten testimony that I wrote during my first three months in the U.S. It recounts the journey of how I came to faith in Christ. As I read it again, I can clearly see God’s love and guidance throughout that season.

What moved me most was the Christ-like love among the brothers and sisters in NUCCF, and Eddie Sun’s long journey to visit me—that act of love helped me recognize what it truly means to be a disciple of Christ.

I honestly don't remember the work project I did together with Otis. All I remember was his hospitality. I got stuck in Houston due to the flood. Otis took me to his huge house and small man cave. Otis introduced me to the Bible Study Fellowhship. Ever since that I got one more thing to long for during the Houston trips. This interview gave me a rich backgroud of Otis. Now I know why he has this open house trandition.
