I met Ji Xiao in 2017 after the transformation of the Jia Yin Fellowship. I’m very grateful that he agreed to be the first father I interviewed, and he’s also the father I’ve observed the most closely in my life.
Ji Xiao’s childhood was filled with joyful learning and opportunities, as his family worked hard to move from the village to the county, then to the city, and ultimately to Tsinghua University. His childhood story is the opposite of the lyrics from “Kill the Shijiazhuang Man.” He was fortunate—not only in terms of family, education, and achievements, but even more so in the hope we both share in Christ.
