We are back with the Season 2 premiere of the Tempo Tribe, and have returned with a new look and new ideas!  

ChillHop (or Lo-fi Hip-Hop) has origins that date as early as the 2000s, utilizing components that originate from Jazz and Classical Music. During the 2010s, there was a noticeable increase in the number of listeners of ChillHop as well as subgenres that emerged from the subgenre (such as chillwave and vaporwave). Grab your snacks, sit back, relax and enjoy as Denzel, Meron, and Dylan discuss the genre known as "ChillHop" and its effect on the modern day. It's good to be back!

Drake's 6th studio album sported a bevy of features and expert production ranging from Metro Boomin, to Masego, PartyNextDoor, Travis Scott, and of course the ever-reliable 40. The Tribe has some thoughts on the latest effort from Mr. Champagne himself; was this an instant classic, or has Drizzy lost a step?

Only the 'Jesus Is King' rapper would drop his album on a Sunday, and it was epic and polarizing, to say the least. Kanye only knows how to do it loud, and Donda was no exception. Filled with church organs, background choir vocals, blazing production, and a plethora of features, there was so much touch on from this album. Unfortunately, not much can be said about Ye's own lyrical performance as a whole (unless you're a Ye stan like one of our hosts). This is Tempo Tribe's high-spirited album review of Donda!

It’s the season finale! So naturally the Tribe goes for a heavy topic.

It’d be an understatement to say that the Black community has had a complicated relationship with western medicine, from lack of healthcare accessibility, to scientific research exploitation, and even criminal neglect. And a global pandemic seemed only to agitate that. This leads to the question: what do people turn to when they don’t have a doctor they trust? And how has that expressed itself in the music? Apparently a whole lotta juicing. Tofu conversion therapy ensues!
