The instruction is for us to live up to what we already know and live out what we have already learned.
You’re always going to feel like you have more to learn. There’s always going to be more to learn.
But stop letting that stop you.
Impostor syndrome is a result of feeling like you’re not prepared enough for the position you’re in. That self doubt is preventing you from taking advantage of what you ALREADY know, utilizing what you’ve ALREADY learned.
If you constantly search for new knowledge, if you’re constantly educating yourself, and you’re in a constant state of seeking truth, are you every really taking action on what you already know>
Are you actually doing yourself a disservice because the more you learn the more you feel like you don’t know, the more you realize you have a lot more to learn, and the more self doubt you have? You then take less action. You’re not applying what you’ve learned.
This is why you may be feeling stuck. You know too much but feel like you still have a lot to learn. You’re standing in the middle of this road looking in all directions and not sure which way to go, or not even sure if you can make a move.
The bible says - ONLY let us live up to what we have already attained.
You can not go beyond what is written, so you need to start where you’re at with what you have and know that THAT is enough through Christ you gives you strength. You are amply supplied and God will meet all your needs according to His Riches and His will.
When you’re feeling self doubt, consider these things..
Why? What is it that you feel like you don’t know or don’t have. And how can not having or knowing those things actually be your benefit? Sometimes ignorance is bliss, sometimes ignorance on fire gets you a lot further than knowing all. Because when you don’t know all the pros and cons, all the could happens, all the what ifs, you’re more likely to MOVE. you’re more likely to go after what it is you want. Sure, you’re more likely to fail, face obstacles, be judged – but these are all things to deliver growth. The result of not going after it is far more disappointing in the long run than risking it and failing.
Self doubt is point blank, not trusting yourself. So.. Why don’t you trust yourself? Is this lack of trust in yourself stemming from something you did in the past? Some failure or self inflicted disappointment such as breaking your own promise or not following through on something you told yourself you would do.
Not trusting yourself completely in every new endeavor is normal. I prove myself wrong all the time. That’s the point.. Even when I have self doubt I make moves. Even when I’m not totally confident in myself I step into it and give myself the chance to either figure it out or fail knowing I tried my best and it some how equipped me for the next thing coming my way.
