TEN-XT: A WWE NXT History Podcast

We finally arrive at NXT ArRival, with the event itself being much better than the build. Sami Zayn and Antonio Cesaro deliver in their historic rivalry-ending match. The Ascension are surprised by Too Cool. Paige and Emma do the best they can with bad booking. And Adrian Neville ascends to the top of the brand, in NXT's first ever ladder match.

Welcome to TEN-XT, an officially unofficial WWE:NXT history podcast. Three lifelong friends discuss the episode of NXT that came out ten years ago today. And along the way, the wider world of the time - Including sports, news and of course... wrestling.

We are not affiliated with WWE in any way, nor are we pro wrestlers. But we are fans of NXT, that IS true. Just British lads talking wrestling, it's a stereotype at this point, so you know the drill.

We can only assume a "Go Home" show is supposed to make you want to go home and watch the show. It seems like NXT forgot to book half of their champions in matches, with a half-finished lackluster build from the Divas division, and nothing planned for YAH YAH YAH - The Ascension. However, Tyler Breeze and Adrian Neville save the show - With a great little main event match.

You'd think NXT ArRival was still many weeks away, but we're close and they're not hyping many matches. Zayn vs Cesaro IV gets locked-in by Triple H, and there's some hype for Paige vs Emma in the Divas segment, but with so many top stars injured, the build is rough. Colin Cassady falls down our babyface rankings through no fault of his own, and CJ Parker turns heel on the NXT universe.

Triple H has a huge announcement regarding the stipulation for Adrian Neville and Bo Dallas on February 27th! (he's still not named the event that's three weeks away). Aiden English has some abhorant, top-heel opinions. The Divas division begins some faction warfare, and it turns out Colin Cassidy is our best booked babyface.

Bo Dallas brings a brand new energy to Adrian Neville's contract signing. Six matches means very little actual wrestling, but the NXT midcard looks strong with some solid character work from Big Cass, Tyler Breeze and Bayley. Plus, Silver Surfer hosts auditions for his new client.

Adrian Neville makes his intentions clear during Bo's historic banner raising ceremoy. Charlotte officially joins the BFFs, but then doesn't appear at ringside with them. Rusev gets ANOTHER squash match. But at least Sami Zayn brings some sense, as he challenges Cesaro to one more match, to right his wrong from 2013.

COO Triple H announces NXT ArRival, which sounds like someone from Newcastle describing Sunderland AFC. Our opening match of Adrian Neville vs Tyler Breeze is a great example of NXT in 2014. Our main event of Kofi Kingston vs Alexander Rusev? Not so much. Plus, Double J makes his return to NXT, Mojo Rawley makes some new fans, and CJ Parker is also here.

We're still waiting on the announcement that will kick-start NXT's 2014, so until then we dissect The Ascension's tornado tag-team match against Hunico and Camacho, in Hunico's last ever match as Hunico. Bayley gets a singles win, but shorter than usual matches don't impress the lads this week. But don't worry, wrestling stars ICP feature in this week's News Desk.

Happy New Year! As in the new year of 2014, because we begin our coverage of one of the best years in NXT history. Although, maybe this isn't the strongest of starts. Emma finally gets a respectable #1 contenders match, Mason Ryan gets squashed, and Sami Zayn and Leo Kruger have one of the strangest 2 Out of 3 falls matches ever.

Merry Everyone! It's December 25th 2013, you're about to sit down for Christmas dinner with your family, but first you have to check out William Regal vs Antonio Cesaro in Regal's retirement match. You won't be able to eat your pigs in blankets, because you'll be too full from all that quality wrestling.

The Lads also review their Annals of NXT History, and hand out some highly subjective awards, chronicling a year in the black and gold brand.
