TEN-XT: A WWE NXT History Podcast

One of our shortest episodes ever, due to an "utterly pointless" lineup of matches. We however, remain silly. Sami Zayn faces Tyson Kidd in the main event, and that's about it. Oh, Konnor does a weird little shimmy, because he's a weird guy.

Welcome to TEN-XT, an officially unofficial WWE:NXT history podcast. Three lifelong friends discuss the episode of NXT that came out ten years ago today. And along the way, the wider world of the time - Including sports, news and of course... wrestling.

We are not affiliated with WWE in any way, nor are we pro wrestlers. But we are fans of NXT, that IS true. Just British lads talking wrestling, it's a stereotype at this point, so you know the drill.

We get what we asked for, a great tag-team main event between Zayn, Neville, Kidd and Gabriel. Bayley and Summer battle in a #1 contender's match, where The BFFs look to put thing to bed. Sin Cara returns, not as Hunico. Bull, the "Big Ugly Bully", continues to get no reaction, or be very ugly. And Xavier Woods acts like a complete heel to an environmental activist who has a sincere offer of peace.

The debut of The Vaudevillians is about the only thing that sparks joy in this episode. Mojo Rawley continues to be confusing, as Garrett Dylan gets offence against him. Tyson Kidd leaves Sami Zayn hanging in the main event. And Tyler Breeze competes in a challenge (against himself), to see who can hold a facelock for the longest.

Charlotte and Natalya steal the show in the Women's Championship Tournament Finals, with Papa Flair and Uncle Bret at ringside. Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze help influence what becomes an iconic NXT style of wrestling. Mojo Rawley fails to defend America from Vladamir Putin, who genuenly makes an appearance on this 2014 WWE show. And Tyson Kidd and Adrian Neville face off for the title, in a battle to see who is the smoothest, picture-perfect grappler of the mid-2010s.

If we can use WWE's marketing language; There's a roadbump on our last stop before Takeover, and it's a literal pile of shit.

The go-home show for the first Takeover features many meaningles main roster guests, as we barely focus on next week's event. The Takeover card looks great on paper, so we look forward to that, and celebrate 100 (101) episodes of TEN-XT. Thanks for listening!
