In this first episode I share how God worked in my life and changed my path in ways I never could have imagined, resulting in a new perspective of how my faith affects my business! I discussed my background, shared my personal salvation testimony, and how God used a legal process called a pre-enforcement challenge to ensure that I could continue to live and work according to my faith. You can read more about the case here: https://www.adflegal.org/detailspages/case-details/amy-lynn-photography-studio-v.-city-of-madison

Podcast Statement of Faith (not mentioned in the episode but just so you know where I'm coming from!) :
There is one omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent God, composed of a trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
[4] There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—[5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, [6] one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (ESV)
As an equal member of the Trinity, Jesus Christ the son of God was born of a virgin and came to earth fully man and fully God, allowing him to be a perfect sacrifice for our sins when he died and rose again from the dead after three days.
[15] He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. [16] For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. [17] And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. [19] For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, [20] and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. [21] And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, [22] he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, (ESV)
[5] Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, [6] who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, [7] but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. [8] And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. [9] Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, [10] so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (ESV)
3 For lI delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ diedmfor our sins nin accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day pin accordance with the Scriptures,
The Bible is the written and complete word of the one true God, who divinely inspired men to write the words. The Bible is inerrant and without contradiction.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training inrighteousness, that ethe man of God2 may be complete, fequipped gfor every goodwork.”
Sin is anything I think say or do that breaks God’s law. All humans are sinners by nature and by choice. In the eyes of a holy and perfect God, the consequence of sin is death and eternity in hell.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Salvation from sin and eternal life in heaven with God is a gift from God and must be accepted by placing faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ’s shed blood. We can do nothing to earn God’s gift of salvation.
John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [9] not a result of works, eso that no one may boast.
[16] “Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.”
The purpose of the local church is to glorify God by teaching truth and creating fellowship among believers so that we can effectively serve and evangelize the world around us.
Hebrews 10:25 - not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Matthew 5:16 - In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Acts 13:47 - For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
Marriage was ordained by God from the very beginning to be a union between one man and one woman for life.
[31] “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” (ESV)
[4] “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” (ESV)
Matthew 19:6 - So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
Men and women are created in the image of God. Men and women are equal but different and and have strengths that complement each other. Gender is determined by God in the womb and is either male or female.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; rmale and female he created them.
[13] “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. [14] I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. [15] My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. [16] Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (ESV)
Human life, which begins at conception, is precious to God. Every human life is uniquely created by God. Just as it is wrong to take an innocent human life outside of the womb; it is wrong to take an innocent life inside the womb.
[3] Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. [4] Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. [5] Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. (ESV)
[10] On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother's womb you have been my God. (ESV)
[24] “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,’” (ESV)
