Pepi Schikowski (b. 1996) is an Australian/German painter and multimedia artist. In his practice, he questions preconceived narratives by diving into their ecology and inter-subjectivities. Inspired by archaeology, literature, mythologies, and personal anecdotes, his striking yet playful subjects move into the realm of the immaterial, inhabiting the spaces we cannot see. Navigating between precision and spontaneity, control and experimentation, the interplay of techniques reflects the multifaceted nature of his practice, demonstrating a tension between innocence and intensity.

He studied at HKU Utrecht and HGB Leipzig and now lives and works in Berlin.

Seamus Platt is an Australian born, Berlin-based, visual artist who employs the photographic image as a starting point in order to explore the distance between the documentary and narrative genres. Intentionally oscillating between photography’s poles; index and construction, Platt works to dismantle Photography’s archaic relation to authenticity, foregrounding the medium’s unavoidable bind with bias. Using the power of past tense, Platt leans on semiotic sequencing to create meaning through metaphor, pairing sets of disparate images that are drawn from their archive.

Platt responds to their immediate milieus, examining gender identity and so-called Australia’s socio-political landscape in an era of post-truth. Drawing on these familiarities in a tongue-in-cheek manner and expressed through the “every day,” Platt suggests subtle and evocative storylines in their works, which they consider indicative of a larger social context.

My name is Robin, I am a graphic designer, artist and maker from the UK. For this tendermesh exhibition I will be showing my clothes for the first time ever, so I'm a little nervous!

I have been working with textiles for years. It first served as a creative escape from the screen dominated work as a graphic designer and has slowly moved and grown into a larger part of my creative practice.

My work is hugely inspired by the city and world around me, the people, the environment, the cultures and I try to produce clothing that will go back to these people and enrich their lives. I predominantly work with recycled materials which both gives me cheap, sustainable material and offers a chance to problem solve. How will I turn this unwanted garment into something fresh and playful?

Meghan Marie Malar (b. 1996) is a FrenchMalaysian artist working across moving image, writing and sculpture. She researches clothing as personal document and cultural artefact, and the public imaginary occupied by consumer retail spaces. This preoccupation is a direct product of her upbringing in France and Geneva, with their storied relationship to fashion and luxury retail, and Kuala Lumpur, with its growing mall-culture. Fashion is one facet of a wider interest in mass and pop cultural phenomena and their influence on the construction of ideology, individualism, and a collective archive.

John-Michael is a multi-disciplinary artist who visually translates music and human emotion through various mediums, working both commercially and independently.

Azura (they/them) is a UK born artist from Portsmouth currently studying fashion design in Berlin. Before coming to Berlin they graduated from (name of uni) in Bristol with a degree in psychology which they often incorporate into their designs. They like using lots of texture and layering in their designs as well as mixed media like sculpture and textile manipulation.

They have a strong belief in sustainability taking care choosing the amount of textiles they choose, repurposing and reusing scraps and leftover materials. Their designs dismiss gender norms and replace that with full freedom of expression.

Kayleigh Maimaran (b.1996) is a multidisciplinary artist.

With a particular interest in the concept of psychological space and architecture, her practice combines video, sound and sculptural elements as a form to explore physical and non-visual aspects of space.

(b.1991) I am a photographer, filmmaker and visual artist based in Berlin. My practice is rooted in the sentimentality of everyday experiences, which I explore often in either a playful or sensitive manner. I am also the co-founder of Berlin Artspace - Backhaus Projects.

Engaging in a multidisciplinary approach to her work, Celina Klohk pursues ideas around phenomenology, subjectivity and unique nature of modern day anxieties. Personal memories, imagination and the ominous presence of cyber-culture come together in an iterative process to re-create mundane moments, amplifying these specific experiences and allowing them to develop into new fictional narratives. Moments of solitude contrast busy group gatherings, introspection contrasts a forgotten self.

Flyn Vibert is a photographer and artist based in Berlin. Their work explores the concept of ‘organic photography’. A practice which involves transforming the surface of portrait images through a variety of unconventional and self-taught processes. These are neither digital nor darkroom in their origin, but are uniquely created.

Moreover, their work deals with questions of grief, sustainability, LGBTQ+ issues, and the gender experience.

Flyn is concerned with pushing the boundaries of the photographic medium through experimentation. Looking not towards digital practice or conceptual methodology, but to evolving the role of the photographer as an artist and an inventor.

Flyn uses non binary pronouns and lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
