PREVIEW: Titans vs. #Giants...Can the #TITANS Get Their FIRST WIN? We DISCUSS!The Tennessee Titans will travel to face the New York Giants on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM CDT at MetLife Stadium. This Week 3 matchup centers on a major quarterback shift for New York following a devastating, season-ending knee injury to starter Jaxson Dart, forcing backup Jameis Winston into action. Meanwhile, the Titans (0-2) look to bounce back from a narrow loss to the Eagles and secure head coach Robert Saleh's first victory with the franchise.
Key Storylines & What to WatchThe Jameis Winston Era Begins (Again): Following Jaxson Dart’s major MCL/PCL/meniscus tear during Monday Night Football, veteran quarterback Jameis Winston takes the reins. Winston struggled initially off the bench against the Rams, throwing for 111 yards and an interception, but a full week of practice as the starter could help steady the G-Men offense.Brian Daboll’s Revenge Game: Current Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll returns to the Meadowlands for the first time since his departure from the Giants last season. He'll be tasked with opening up the field for second-year quarterback Cam Ward, who showed progress with two rushing touchdowns last week but needs more efficiency in the passing game.Injury Variables: Beyond the quarterback position, both teams are watching key players. Giants pass rusher Brian Burns is managing a sprained ankle, and star rookie wideout Malik Nabers is working through a shoulder injury. Their availability could drastically alter the game plan against a solid Titans defense that picked off Jalen Hurts twice in Week 2.
FAMILIAR FACESThe Titans have several coaches and players with close ties to the Giants. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was the Giants head coach from 2022 to 2025, while position coaches Carmen Bricillo (offensive line) and Shea Tierney (quarterbacks) also served on the Giants staff. Titans special teams coordinator John Fassel's father, Jim Fassel, was the Giants head coach from 1997 to 2003. Wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, center Austin Schlottmann, tight end Daniel Bellinger and cornerback Cor'Dale Flott were all signed by the Titans this offseason after previously playing for the Giants. On the opposite sideline, the current Giants coaching staff consists of some recognizable faces from their time with the Titans. Among those are quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan, the Titans head coach from 2024 to 2025, and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, who served in the same capacity on Callahan's staff.THE GIANTSGiants head coach John Harbaugh arrived in New York during the 2026 offseason following an 18-year run with the Baltimore Ravens. He compiled 180 regular-season victories with the Ravens to move into 14th all-time in the NFL, while his 13 postseason wins are tied for seventh most all-time.After defeating the division-rival Dallas Cowboys in their opener, the Giants traveled to Los Angeles for a Monday night matchup with the Rams in Week 2. Against the Rams, second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart exited with a knee injury in the first quarter and did not return. He was replaced by 12-year veteran Jameis Winston, but the Rams never trailed in the contest and prevailed by a final score of 28-6.Dart, who was the 25th overall pick and the second quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL Draft behind Ward, notched his 14th career start prior to leaving the contest.

POSTGAME: Titans LOSE 24-20 vs. Eagles. Improvements or Concerns? We DISCUSS

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-20 in a thrilling Week 2 matchup at Nissan Stadium on September 20, 2026. [1]Playing under extreme weather conditions with on-turf temperatures recorded at a scorching 157 degrees Fahrenheit, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts orchestrated a 9-play, 65-yard game-winning drive in the final minutes. He delivered a 3-yard touchdown pass to Darius Cooper with just 9 seconds remaining on the clock to secure the comeback victory. Despite the Titans' defense forcing two interceptions and keeping the game tight until the final play, Tennessee fell to 0-2 on the season while Philadelphia advanced to 2-0.

    Key Game Statistics

    • Jalen Hurts (PHI): 264 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 16 rushing yards.
    • Cam Ward (TEN): 183 passing yards, 0 passing touchdowns, and 2 rushing touchdowns.
    • DeVonta Smith (PHI): 10 receptions for 117 yards and 1 touchdown.
    • Tony Pollard (TEN): 14 carries for 64 rushing yards.

PREVIEW: TITANS vs. EAGLES - 0-2? Do the #TITANS have a CHANCE? We DISCUSS!

After a 24-22 victory in Week 1, the Philadelphia Eagles travel south to face the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. Here are three key matchups to watch.Jeffery Simmons vs. the Eagles’ Interior Offensive LineAt the core of Tennessee’s defense sits Simmons, anchoring the interior of their defensive line. Simmons is one of the most talented defensive linemen in the NFL. Last season, he piled up 11 sacks and 60 quarterback pressures, earning his third career All-Pro honors. He is just as disruptive against the run, recording 42 defensive stops.Simmons’ strengths align directly with the main issues that plagued the Eagles’ offense in their season opener: the performance of the interior of their offensive line.Against the Commanders, Landon Dickerson allowed four pressures, while Tyler Steen was beat four times and Cam Jurgens was called for two penalties. With Dickerson now on the injured reserve list, I believe that the unit will actually benefit from inserting Drew Kendall in place of a struggling veteran. However, facing a dynamic, space-eating disrupter like Jeffrey Simmons is a nightmare draw for Kendall, who brings very little experience against top-tier NFL interior talent.DeVonta Smith vs. Tennessee’s SecondaryOutside of a 31-yard sideline grab, Smith had a quiet outing in the season opener, finishing with just three catches for 51 yards. With A.J. Brown’s departure this offseason, the spotlight is on Smith to finally have the type of production expected from a true WR1. The Titans’ secondary presents Smith with an opportunity to have a monster game.Tennessee’s secondary had a mediocre showing against the Jets. Geno Smith, who led the NFL in interceptions the previous season, finished with just five incompletions. Alontae Taylor was a particular weak point, earning an abysmal 37.4 PFF coverage grade. The last time the Eagles faced a Robert Saleh-led defense, Smith caught eight passes for 70 yards. It will be key for the Eagles to get Smith involved early and often.Cam Ward vs. the Eagles’ Pass RushWard flashed real potential during his rookie season, showcasing a talented arm and making difficult throws downfield despite a lackluster supporting cast. However, his biggest flaw was a distinct drop-off in performance under pressure.ADVERTISINGThe Miami product took the most sacks in the NFL with 55, tied only with Geno Smith. When he wasn’t getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage, Ward completed under 42% of his passes and threw the same number of interceptions as touchdowns (4).In the Titans season opener, those struggles remained the same. Ward completed just 50% of his throws when under pressure, compared to 63.6 percent when he had a clean pocket. Ward was also sacked three times. The Eagles’ blitz rate was top ten across the league in Week 1 and found decent success. Despite only recording one sack, the Eagles pressured Jayden Daniels on 50% of his dropbacks. Ward is far less mobile than Daniels. I expect Vic Fangio to remain aggressive in his play calling to heat Ward up, especially after he criticized the performance of the Eagles’ pass rush despite the win.

    • Titans LOSE 23-10 to the NY JETS! Embarrassing Performance by the Titans

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- — The New York Jets made some big moves and changes during the offseason trying to shake up a franchise mired in a decade of losing.

For one game, they got exactly what they wanted.

Breece Hall ran for 102 yards and a touchdown, Geno Smith threw for 215 yards in his Jets' return and the Jets defeated Tennessee 23-10 on Sunday to spoil Titans coach Robert Saleh's debut against his former team.

“We’re just following our plan, and that’s it,” Jets coach Aaron Glenn said. “That’s it. We’re happy to get a win. It’s only one game.”

The Jets never trailed, led 10-3 at halftime with the TD scored by rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq and held the ball close to 39 minutes. Smith, drafted by New York in 2013 and acquired from Las Vegas in March, finished 19 of 24 while efficiently moving new coordinator Frank Reich' s offense.

“We started fast, and obviously we kept our foot on the gas and just tried to stay even-keeled throughout,” Smith said.

The game matched franchises that went 3-14 last season and prompted the Titans to hire Saleh — who coached the Jets from 2021 before being fired after five games in 2024 — in January hoping to end four straight losing seasons. Tennessee also was the NFL's biggest spenders in March adding free agents.

“A little birdie told us that they wrote some checks they couldn’t cash today,” Hall said to laughter.

The Jets, meanwhile, have the longest playoff drought in the four major North American men’s sports leagues with Glenn starting his second season in New York.

The Jets left Music City with their first season-opening win since 2023. A team that began last season by losing its first seven under Glenn and dropped its last five dominated Tennessee with a 367-195 edge in total offense. The Jets also had a 19-play drive that used up nearly 12 minutes of the first half.

“I’m very disappointed,” Ward said. “We’re better than what we showed.”

With Glenn calling the defense this season, rookie edge rusher David Bailey, the No. 2 pick overall, had one of three sacks for the Jets, who chased Titans quarterback Cam Ward all game. Linebacker Demario Davis, among the free agent additions, led the defense in tackles, while offseason addition Kingsley Enagbare had a sack.

“They got after us,” said Saleh, who called the Titans’ plays on defense after not doing that with the Jets.

Ward was 19 of 32 for 140 yards and a late touchdown pass to Elic Ayomanor.

Glenn deactivated kicker Blake Grupe, who was claimed off waivers Aug. 31 from Indianapolis, and went with Jason Sanders, who was elevated from the practice squad. Sanders made field goals of 33, 51 and 52 yards, rebounding after yanking a 54-yard attempt short and left.

      Titanic early mistakes

Titans kicker Joey Slye pushed the opening kickoff out of bounds for a penalty, and Saleh had to call a timeout to avoid a penalty for 12 men on the field. All-Pro returner Chimere Dike had a teammate pushed into him on his first attempt at fielding a punt. Once cleared from a concussion check, Dike lost a fumble on a kickoff.

      Honoring Chris Johnson

Former running back Chris Johnson couldn’t make it Sunday with the Titans set to induct him into their ring of honor. The Titans went ahead with honoring the man nicknamed CJ2K after becoming the sixth man in NFL history to run for at least 2,000 yards. Johnson announced in June that he had been diagnosed with ALS.

      Injuries

Jets: Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick hurt his groin in the first quarter and didn't return. Rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. hurt an ankle in the first and never returned. Glenn said: “I’m not too worried about them at all."

Titans: Dike was hurt on his first chance to return a punt when teammate Micah Robinson was pushed backward into Dike. He was evaluated for a concussion and cleared to return.

      Up next

Jets: Host Green Bay in their home opener on Sept. 20.

Titans: Host Philadelphia on Sept. 20.

PREGAME: TITANS vs. NY JETS - Week 1....a MUST WIN for the TITANS? We DISCUSS!!

It's an intriguing reunion in Nashville, as the New York Jets travel to face the Tennessee Titans and their former head coach, Robert Saleh.

After leading the Jets from 2021 through the first five games of the 2024 season, Saleh is now tasked with turning around a Titans team coming off back-to-back 3–14 seasons. For Saleh, the emotions of facing his former team will take a back seat to the bigger challenge: starting his tenure in Tennessee with a win. The Titans have plenty of familiar faces from Saleh's time in New York, adding another layer to an already intriguing Week 1 matchup.

The Jets are hoping Geno Smith can bring something they have desperately lacked in recent seasons: stability at quarterback. The veteran returns to New York for a second stint and enters the season after a turbulent 2025 campaign with Las Vegas. With Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson alongside him, Smith has enough talent around him to make New York's offense dangerous if he can settle into Frank Reich's system.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on Cam Ward as the Titans' quarterback enters his second NFL season. The former No. 1 overall pick showed flashes as a rookie, but Year 2 represents an important opportunity to take a significant step forward and Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will be counting on him to do exactly that.

Titans score 16 unanswered points to beat Seahawks

Week 2 of the NFL preseason concluded tonight as the Tennessee Titans eked out a 19-16 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle's backup offensive unit raced to a 16-3 lead over Tennessee, with Drew Lock finding Elijah Arroyo for a 36-yard touchdown pass and Jacardia Wright breaking a 69-yard rushing touchdown run. But the Titans scored 16 unanswered points, including the go-ahead touchdown on a 2-yard rush from D'Ernest Johnson with 5:50 remaining, to capture a 19-16 win.

Cam Ward started at quarterback for Tennessee and directed three drives, completing 8 of 12 pass attempts for 69 yards.
