Steffi Graf remains the only player ever, male or female, to have won the Golden Slam, which is winning all 4 Grand Slams and the Olympic Gold medal in the same season.
In this episode, I am joined by Vansh Vermani, a tennis enthusiast and writer for Cracked Racquets (follow them @CrackedRacquets). That season was remarkable no matter how you look at it. She was distributing bagels like it's no one's business, only lost 2 sets in all 4 slams, and an overall 13 sets to 148 in the season overall, losing only 3 matches. Regarded by most as the greatest season of all time, Steffi Graf's incredible year of dominance deserves an episode done solely for herself.
It is also worth remembering: only 3 other players have won all 4 slams plus the Olympic Gold in their careers, not in the same year: Andre Agassi in 1996, Nadal in his great 2008 season, and Serena Williams finally achieved the Career Golden Slam in 2012.
