Terpene Therapy

2022 was by far the hashiest year on record! Here's my top five favorite episodes from this year! It took me a whole week to narrow them down! I hope you have enjoyed the ride so far, and I can't wait to see what 2023 has in store!

5. Terpene Therapy #017:  - I really like this episode because it introduced me to a record that I was surprised I’d never heard before. This episode is part 3 of the 1st terpiest album list from @_cr.iii_ and we smoked some vampire slayer from one of the previous who’s who drops! We also used my @kylou.glass multi-artist collab recycler!

4. Terpene Therapy #033: Mescaline Containing Cacti/Leave The Peyote Alone! - I really like this episode because it branches out a bit from the general idea of Terpene Therapy and discusses Psychedelic Compounds! I like this one because mescaline has an interesting molecular structure and pharmacology! While it does have activity at the 5-HT2 receptor sites in the body, it also has activity on dopamine and adrenal release in the body. This sets mescaline apart from Psilocybin or LSD.

3. Terpene Therapy #001 - this list wouldn’t be complete without the first episode! I was so scared to upload this first episode that I almost didn’t do it! But instead of listening to doubt and fear, I decided to say fuck it and put out the episode! It feels clunky and the production isn’t the best but it makes me so proud to look back on! The power of sticking with a valuable idea is something that can’t be replaced.

2. Terpene Therapy #024 : Interview with @maxselectseeds - this episode was my first interview with someone who isn’t a KY local! I really recommend you go check out this episode, as he has a wild story! We discuss consciousness while in a coma and that’s all I’ll say about that! Also, if you’re looking for some rare terps to add to the seed collection, then look no further!

1. Terpene Therapy #009: Interview With @kylou.glass and @backwood_buddy - this episode got the ball rolling! I think this one made me realize the value of Terpene Therapy! I also realized I really enjoy interviewing and having conversations with new people! I want to give a huge thanks to Kylou.glass and backwood_buddy for taking a chance and making the choice to come hang out on Terpene Therapy! And go grab you a @kylou.glass piece today!

This is part 2 of the Terpene Therapy Music Tasting! I hope y'all enjoyed part 1 and I hope the terps are flowing heavily in your soul!

I Love You Too, Death - MGMT

This song reminds me of the cyclical nature of existence. You, I, and Everything must go around the great loop and the ultimate driving force of this loop is the force of Love.

Do What We Do - Portugal. The Man

This song has a great groove to it! It’s also a bop for any creative person out there! You always gotta have a song with a good groove on a hash playlist

Clar de Lune - Claude Debussy

This song makes you feel like you’re  suspended underwater and yet you can still breathe. This is in my personal top 10 songs that have ever been created by humans. And once again, it’s another solo piano piece. Really good for the soul!

Whole New Mess - Angel Olsen

Even though she is from Chicago, is a mountain witch from deep in the Appalachian wilderness. The vocal timbre is unmatched on this record! Very few songs feel like they are haunted, this is one of them! And as always, “It won’t be long before it’s really shining, It’s every season where it is I’m going.”

Phantom Regret by Jim - The Weeknd

I won't spoil this one, just give it a listen right after a dab!

These tracks are in no particular order; I enjoy each of them equally! I have also arranged this playlist in a particular way but feel free to listen to it in any order! I picked each track because of their ability to stand alone from the context of an album! Thank y’all for the continued support and I hope you enjoy these first five tracks from the playlist!

1. Levitation - Beach House : I’ve always thought that this song is a great opener for a record! The constant yet subtle building feeling in this song is something that I really enjoy as well. It provides a feeling of arriving, like you’re wandering through a snow covered pine forest and you finally reach clearing.
2. Crack Up (Choral Version) - Fleet foxes : This song is something very special. The recording took place at a live concert in Switzerland and the audio quality, intonation, and the harmonic/timbre combinations are all top notch! Also, the choir sounds like the northern lights.
3. Trois Gymnopédies: Gymnopedie no. 1 - Eric Satie : composed in 1888 for solo piano, this piece really feels like a dark, windy, and snowy night. You might have a fire in the fire place and the hash edibles are melding you with the couch! The world is still; you can sleep now.
4. Clarity - Mac Miller : I am grateful that this song exists. Thank you.
5. A.W.O.L. - Earthgang : this duo is one of my favorite groups from the south. Some of my favorite production and song writing is from their first two records and this one in particular sticks out from their discography!

This is the first half of the playlist! Make sure y’all check out the 2nd half next Monday!

Today we have @kylou.glass back in the studio! He's a glass artist based out of Louisville, KY and you know we love local art on Terpene Therapy! We had so many great pieces and hash on the table!

Since our episode turned into a three hour conversation, I decided to split these episodes up into two parts! This first part focuses a bit more on the technical aspects of glass working; the second part focuses more on philosophy! However there is a bit of a mix of both topics throughout, that tends to happen when the hash comes out!

Today we talk about some new additions to the studio, new appreciations for full melt hash, new ideas, and last but not least new laws!

On January 1 2023, Kentucky residents will be able to obtain a medical cannabis license and possess up to 8 ounces of cannabis from any licensed dispensary in the US with proof of purchase! There are 21 eligible conditions as of right now. This is a very exciting time for the cannabis community and market in Kentucky! Our state has a rich history with cannabis and I am excited to see what our market blossoms into over the next decade!

Today, we're going to explore the Terp Sous Vide. This device is handmade in the US and is quite possibly the best desktop method for heating a hash utensil! I have been trying to find a reason to go back to the butane torch while at home; I simply cannot find one. I also like that the sound isn't as loud on the mic when recording!

We also explore the Native Leaf Co! Today we smoked the Abel, which is their 3 leaf wrap! It held roughly an eighth for me and smoked beautifully! Long time listeners will know that I never stray away from Raw Blacks, however this product caught my eye! It's a perfect alternative to blunts/tobacco leaves!
