For Episode 165, JP taps in with Jamie — better known as Dr. Dabber — the founder behind one of the most respected and recognizable names in concentrate culture.

Jamie grew up in South Florida and took a very different path than most. 🎙️ Episode 162 – Sean Ryan of Murphy’s Ridge


This week, JP sits down with Sean Ryan, the man behind Murphy’s Ridge, and one of the most respected legacy figures to come out of Northern California cannabis.

Sean was born in Los Angeles and raised in Fremont, CA, growing up in a family where hustle was part of everyday life. His parents sold weed, his brothers moved whatever they could, and Sean learned early how to survive, move smart, and stand on principle. That environment shaped his mindset and gave him a deep understanding of both the grind and the responsibility that comes with it.

Sean’s path into cultivation came naturally through the legacy market — being around the plant, putting in real work, and building relationships long before legalization was even a conversation. He played an early role in helping Caleb from Connected get his first grow off the ground, and they’ve remained close ever since. Sean’s name overlaps with many people who would later become pillars of the culture, including extended connections tied to Proper Doinks. He may have been the guy that Adam got his first pack from! He’s a true OG — known, respected, and trusted by anyone who’s been around long enough to know what real looks like.

Murphy’s Ridge reflects that same DNA. The brand focuses on organic outdoor and light-dep cannabis, grown with intention and priced so people can actually enjoy it. No gimmicks. No inflated hype. Just honest flower done the right way.

But Sean’s story goes much deeper.

In March of 2011, Sean was shot during a robbery at a grow and left paralyzed. He woke up from a coma wheelchair-bound. A former U.S. Navy serviceman, Sean leaned on discipline, mental toughness, and sheer will to rebuild his life.

Instead of folding, Sean kept going. He created a new lifestyle, stayed connected to the plant, and found purpose through perseverance. Today, you’ll still catch him cruising around California with his dog Bailey, spreading love for Murphy’s Ridge and showing people what resilience really looks like. Since the incident, he’s accomplished things most people never attempt — including swimming to Alcatraz.
