"The Ash-tree" is a ghost story by British writer M.R. James included in his 1904 collection Ghost Stories of Antiquary. The ancestral home of Castringham Hall, and the Fell family line, is seemingly cursed, haunted, by the happenings of a witch trial, long ago. Meanwhile, a monstrous Ash Tree grows close by.
