Martha Crenshaw, political scientist and author of ‘Countering Terrorism’, wrote what turned out to be a classic in the field of terrorism studies. What prompted her to write this work this book, and what got her interested in the field of terrorism studies in the first place? How does Crenshaw see the past, present and future of terrorism studies? In this first episode, Beatrice de Graaf, historian at Utrecht University and editor of TPV, will interview Martha Crenshaw. Together Martha and Beatrice will cover some of the many topics Martha has studied in her career – zooming out for this first episode and providing a broad overview of terrorism. Discussing terrorism as a problem of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
