Before long, bodies pile up, all killed in gruesome wintry  ways. Can the sheriff stop the murderer’s icy reign of terror?

In episode 75 of SPLATTER CHATTER Dan and Jennifer howl at the moon and  discuss their favourite Werewolf movies.  Lore changes from culture to culture but a man with the ability to  shapeshift into a wolf - usually cursed or bitten by another.  

The 18th century became popular in fictional literature including medieval romances - which proves people have been trying to fuck mythical  creatures for centuries. Motion pictures at the end of the 18th century wouldn’t be long until the werewolf made an appearance. The very first film was a silent short titled THE WEREWOLF (1913) and over the next hundred and forty-plus years has been embedded in genre cinema.

In episode 73 of Splatter Chatter Dan and Jennifer cover, every  puss-filled nook and mutated cranny of their favourite Body Horror  movies.  BODY HORROR is easily summed up as graphic violations of the human body.  

Now, I know what you’re thinking, aren’t all horror films graphic  violations of the human body? Yes, however unlike the SLASHER genre  where a killer inflicts violence upon his/her victim in a familiar/safe  setting (Suburbia/Summer Camp), BODY HORROR tends to spotlight a  physical manifestation.  DAVID CRONENBERG is definitely the best example we can give - VIDEODROME  was an exploration of the fusion of flesh and technology, THE FLY is a  commentary on the AIDS epidemic. It has been a prominent genre through  the 80s where MELT MOVIE STREET TRASH picked the scab of America’s  growing homeless epidemic. The 90s and of course the post 9/11 TORTURE  PORN films such as SAW and HOSTEL

In episode 72 Dan and Jennifer are on the hunt for aliens as they check out THE HIDDEN (1987).

In episode 71 of Splatter Chatter Dan and Jennifer rack their braaaaains  to come up with their favourite zombie movies.  

Kicking off the craze in 1968 George A Romero introduced us to the world  of Zombies with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD this film has spawned sequels  DAWN, DAY. Cut to the 80s we see a resurgence with the punk-riddled  RETURN OF series and finally into the 00s with Zack Snyder’s remake of  DAWN OF kicking off a new era for a new generation of moviegoers. Since  then there have been hundreds of comic books, TV series, and movies that  explore the zombie genre.
