CNN political voice Scott Jennings, a former WHAS Radio news anchor, joined midday host Leland Conway to discuss misguided media and social media conspiracy theories related to Senator Mitch McConnell's recent hospitalization.

Millions of online commentators were assuring each other that McConnell is dead, or brain dead and being kept alive to bypass Governor Andy Beshear's potential to call a special session forcing a vote for replacement. 

After weeks of unanswered questions, McConnell's office finally released a full medical update and a photo of the senator and his wife Elaine Chao in a Washington D.C. rehab facility. The McConnell team released details of his June 14, 2026 fall and the medical diagnosis reports.

Both hardcore Liberals and MAGA stalwarts tried to poke holes in the statements and the photo, claiming McConnell is dead and the photo was either a 2023 reissue or A.I. doctored.

It's a reminder once again that nearly half of the population is of below average intelligence.

Louisville leaders would be wise to secure Mr. Beck's services in an ambassador role to maintain and grow the tourism sector.

Kentucky state represenatative John Hodgson (Dist 36) shared his thoughts on today's tumult within the ranks of tourism leadership. Here's the background info: the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled that Republican-led laws to reduce Governor Andy Beshear's power is unconstitutional.

Today, Beshear revamped the Kentucky State Fair Board and his newly appointed members immediately fired longtime Ky Venues CEO David Beck.

Beck's leadership produced generous funding thru the state legislature for massive upgrades at the Kentucky Expo Center and Ky International Convention Center. Plus, the convention and tourism numbers soared under Beck's relationships with decision makers.

Some of the biggest shows on the tourism calendar: Bourbon & Beyond, Louder Than Life, the farm machinery show, teen sports competitions, faith group conventions, and so many more have expanded during Beck's tenure.

Mike Berry has been named interim CEO, but admitted he's a short-termer.

Will the new leader be able to maintain Beck's successes? Will Louisville tourism continue its upward trajectory now that Beck's longterm connections are severed?

Governor Beshear will hopefully step forward to confirm that Ky Venues can best utilize the $400 million investment in Ky Expo Centers' upgrades.
