  • 1 Corinthians, Part 20 - 06-19-2016
The events that played out in the Garden of Eden AND on the CROSS on a universal level
are playing out in each individual life on earth. As Adam led all humanity into the dust, so Christ's work on the cross paid the price of Adam's sin to lead all into Glory.
On a personal level, because we are born from Adam, our destiny is the the dust, or death. But, also on a personal level, Christ died for your sin and my sin as individuals.
While on the cross, Jesus knew your name. While on the cross, Jesus knew your sins. While on the cross, Jesus laid down His life for those who would turn to Him. And for those, He has ordained them to be in heaven forever.

  • 1 Corinthians, Part 19 - 06-12-2016
Which miracle in the life of Jesus are you willing to sacrifice on the altar of logic?
Paul is making his point that disbelief in Christ's resurrection has a "chain reaction effect" upon our
salvation–which ultimately becomes nothing more than a fairy tale.
At which point we are sacrificing all comforts and riches for no more of a reward than the heathen who "live it up" in this world.
We either receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ in it's entirety or we reject the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ one miracle at a time. To reject even one miracle and receive the rest means that you are receiving a counterfeit gospel that is incapable of saving you.

  • 1 Corinthians, Part 16 - 05-22-2016
How do we, in the year 2016 remain true to the word of God, which in turn dictates what we
accept and what we reject within our culture, and remain relevant to the lost who have no interest in church? There is a very real danger in remaining relevant to a culture that is naturally resistant to the Gospel. The danger we face is in emulating the world as a means of attracting the lost into the church and in the process watering down the Gospel we preach which, as Paul says at that point, is really no Gospel at all.

  • 1 Corinthians, Part 15 - 05-15-2016
In chapter eleven of 1 Corinthians Paul addresses a question from the Corinthian church concerning head coverings. These scriptures are not merely about clothing and style. It goes much deeper than that. Paul is saying, before we can deal with the traditions you are questioning, we must go back to that which gave birth to these traditions.
God established His authority in Genesis. As we work our way through the creation account it becomes apparent that God is in charge of His creation including the creation of Adam as he creates order. We read that on the sixth day God created man and gave him authority over creation.

  • 1 Corinthians, Part 14 - 05-08-2016
Our testimony is a key element in others believing our Christ experience is authentic.
When we give our testimony others expect to see a change in the way we live our lives.
    • The way we speak
    • What we say
    • How we view sin
    • What we stop doing
    • What we start doing
    • Whether we still lose our temper
    • What we eat or drink
Because of who we are, what we do matters beyond this world and to others.
