However, we argue that the only way teams can remain afloat is if these franchises turn into football clubs. The age-old problem of financial sustainability in Indian football is discussed, while we look into markets with untapped potential that teams must consider to generate additional revenue streams in the future. Finally, we discuss the possibility of a merger and what that might signify for the future of football in India.
