Week 1 of Texas High School football is finally here!  The road to AT&T starts this week and the excitement of the players and coaches being back on the field to see how all their hard work this summer looks on the field!

This week Host Taylor Arenz talked with three senior standouts who will be taking the field this week for their “last first game” of high school football. All three are committed to playing at the next level, and in this episode they share their journeys, emotions, and goals heading into their senior seasons.

First, Taylor catches up with Christopher and Carter Stewart from Alvin Shadow Creek. Chris, a 4 star wide receiver committed to the Texas Longhorns, and Carter, a 3 star safety committed to Utah, talk about growing up as brothers on opposite sides of the ball, their recruiting experiences, and the emotions of running onto the field one last time together. They also reflect on Shadow Creek’s surprising playoff exit last year and how it has fueled their motivation for 2025.

Then, Taylor talks with 4 Star DL Alister Vallejo a senior at Liberty Hill who is committed to play at Michigan. He opens up about his recruiting process, why Michigan was the right choice, and how it feels to have the pressure of recruiting behind him before his senior year. Alister also discusses Liberty Hill’s transition under new head coach Kent Seaborn and what he’s looking forward to most in his final season as a Panther.

This episode is all about senior leadership, last-first-game emotions, and the excitement of Texas high school football as the season officially arrives.

Episode 115 of the Texas High School Football Podcast host Taylor Arenz chats with one of the fastest-growing programs in the state: Prosper High School.

Head Coach Tyler Moore has been at the helm has watched Prosper grow in his 10 season at Prosper and he’s someone who brings deep passion and perspective to the sidelines. He’s coached state championship teams, built strong roots in the Prosper community, and leads a program of nearly 300 players across all levels.

Welcome to Episode 114 of the Texas HS Football Podcast! This week Host Taylor Arenz is joined by someone who doesn’t just coach Texas high school football he grew up in it. Southlake Carroll head coach and athletic director Riley Dodge! Coach Dodge knows what it means to wear the Dragon green as it is his high school alma mater and he’s been leading one of the most tradition-rich programs in the state with the same pride he once played with.

In 2018, Riley stepped into a role that most people can only dream about becoming the head coach of his alma mater, where he once starred as quarterback and helped bring home three state titles. Now, he’s leading the next generation of Dragons, building off a trip to the state championship game this past season, and continuing to grow a program that expects excellence.

Taylor and Coad Dodge talk about what that journey has looked like, what it’s like coaching in a community that lives and breathes Southlake football, how his team is gearing up this offseason, and yes we’ll even get into what he’s learned from growing up under the guidance of his dad, legendary coach Todd Dodge.
