Tuvok Unhinged.
Vulcans are generally known for being calm, cool, rational, and collected. But every once in a while even a Vulcan can come unglued at the seams. And our favorite Vulcan member of the Voyager crew, the one and only Mr. Tuvok, is no exception. Over Voyager's seven-year journey, we see Tuvok mind melding, Pon Farring, cake baking, wax flower making, flashbacking, emotion repressing, brain igniting, and even strolling onto the bridge sans uniform! (Okay, that last one was just a bad dream, but still....) In this episode of To The Journey, hosts Suzanne Williamson, Kay Shaw, and Zachary Fruhling compare their favorite "Tuvok Unhinged" moments in Star Trek: Voyager.

DS9 Season 6 - Essential Trek Philosophy with Duncan Barrett, Part 1. In this first part of a two-part episode of Meta Treks, hosts Mike Morrison and Zachary Fruhling are joined by author Duncan Barrett to discuss their picks for Essential Trek Philosophy from season 6 of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Much of Season 6 of Deep Space Nine can be framed in terms of Thomas Hobbes's conception of a State of Nature outside of civilized society, in which actions in war are not bound by ethical consideration. Duncan Barrett, however, explains Season 6 of Deep Space Nine and the Cardassian occupation of Bajor by comparison with the German occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II. Star Trek: Countdown.
When the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek film hit theaters in 2009, audiences were left with a lot of questions: who is this Nero guy? Why does he have a super-powerful mining ship? And what exactly happened before he and Spock travelled to the 23rd century via black hole? Thankfully, those questions and more were answered if you were fortunate enough to read some well-timed IDW Star Trek comics!
In this episode of Literary Treks, hosts Bruce Gibson and Dan Gunther talk about the four-issue comic miniseries Countdown. We discuss each of the issues, the character of Nero, a resurrected Data, Ambassador Picard, General Worf of the Klingon Empire, Spock and Nero's ultimate fate, and conclude with our ratings.
In the news segment, we talk about upcoming comics for May, a special preview of issue number one of Mirror Broken, and an exciting sale on Star Trek comics at Comixology!

Retrospective: Season Three Part One.
Season three of Star Trek: Enterprise was an brave experiment of storytelling with the franchise's first season long story arc. As a response to the events of September 11, 2001, the creators of the show wanted to take Star Trek in a new, darker direction.
In this episode of Warp Five, hosts Floyd Dorsey and Brandon-Shea Mutala are joined by Patrick Devlin for the first part in our season three retrospective. We discuss the episodes "The Xindi," "Anomaly," "Extinction," and "Rajiin." We also discuss converting temperatures from Celsius to Fahrenheit, distances from kilometers to miles, and Fraggle Rock.
