Reginald Barclay learns there's nothing to fear about the transporter except when that fear is completely legitimized by the appearance of the giant quasi-energy microbes that attack him. It's Realm of Fear on this week's Mission Log.

Earl Grey 162: Grr... Yeah
Recast TNG.
James T. Kirk and Spock are arguably the most beloved and well-known characters in Star Trek. With the newest movies released, does one prefer William Shatner over Chris Pine or Leonard Nimoy over Zachary Quinto? What will happen if we reboot The Next Generation? As it stands now, Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner are the names associated with Jean-Luc Picard and Data, respectively. But, who would play these characters now?
In this episode of Earl Grey, hosts Lee Hutchison, Richard Marquez, and Amy Nelson look at a recast of The Next Generation. We decide if our interpretation of a reboot series would be in the Prime or Kelvin timeline, or if this reboot takes place now versus the 1980's. Each host prepares and defends their choice of actors that would play the main characters of TNG.

The mirror universe: an alternate reality where humans value treachery, personal gain, and avarice over friendship, community, and shared triumph. A place where history has crafted a very different Starfleet made up of vicious, brutal barbarians bent on galactic conquest. Can our heroes overcome an all-out war with their evil counterparts from this horrific universe?
In this episode of Literary Treks hosts Dan Gunther and Bruce Gibson talk about Star Trek Archives Volume 6: The Mirror Universe Saga. We discuss the story, continuity errors, lower decks characters, mirror Spock, pity, deviations, wrapping up and our ratings.
In the news segment we talk about the upcoming Star Trek Deviations comic, comic covers in March, the Classic UK Comics Vol, 2 release and the Star Trek Graphic Novel Collection from Eaglemoss.

Star Wars: A New Dawn.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012 and acquired the rights to Star Wars a lot of things happened very quickly: The Clone Wars was canceled, the Expanded Universe was canceled and in their places we would get a new animated show, Star Wars Rebels as well as a new literature line that would be fully canon. As it happened, the first book in the new canon would be the lead in to Rebels, taking place six years before the events of the series.
In this episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing is joined by fellow rebels Aaron Goins and Bruce Gibson to talk about A New Dawn. We discuss legends, a new canon, an introduction, the relationship question, Jedi relationships, proto-rebels, big Empire watching, bad businessmen, Imperials, they who must not be named and ratings.
