Stephen Smith was a bright, hilarious, loved 19 year old. In 2015, he was killed in a rural area of South Carolina. For years, his death was treated as a hit and run, until in 2021, with evidence found during the Murdaugh investigation, SLED reopened his case and is investigating it as a homicide. Stephen's family has fought for years to get answers and find justice for Stephen.

Alex Murdaugh faced almost 100 charges ranging from forgery, tax evasion, money laundering and everything in between, before he was eventually charged with the murders of his wife Maggie, and son, Paul. There were also two other deaths linked to the Murdaugh family that were looked into by officials after Alex's arrest: Gloria Satterfield and Stephen Smith.

For generations, the Murdaugh family has been well known in South Carolina. For decades, they had a hand in politics and the justice system and they got away with the unthinkable. Countless people have been negatively effected because of the selfish and privileged actions of Alex Murdaugh.

After the boating accident that caused the tragic death of Mallory Beach, people started paying closer attention to the Murdaughs and this "perfect family" was exposed for what was truly happening behind closed doors. Everyone who stepped into the forcefield of Alex Murdaugh was hurt emotionally or physically in one way or another.

The murders of Paul and Maggie Murdaugh were the final straw in Alex's downfall and the world is finally seeing him for who he truly is.
