Vanessa Maryanne Cheatham, also known as Veve C, was born on July 31, 1996. Although born in Englewood, New Jersey, Cheatham spent most of the earliest years of her life in Teaneck, New Jersey, where her paternal grandparents lived. She also lived in Hackensack, New Jersey, for about 3 years before moving to New Windsor, New York (where she spent most of her life.) Cheatham has always had music as a part of her life since childhood.
At birth, Cheatham was named “Vanessa’ after the legendary Vanessa Williams. However, her mother, Tonya Lavette Fitzpatrick Riley, was fascinated with butterflies because Cheatham’s maternal grandmother called her and her sister Tamika Fitzpatrick “little butterflies.” Ironically she found out her name meant “butterfly” in Greek and Latin when she looked it up. Since 2014 Cheatham has lived in a single-parent household with her father Shawn Tyrone Cheatham Sr. and her younger brother Shawn Tyrone Cheatham Jr. In that same year, her mother moved to Savannah, Georgia, after Cheatham’s high school graduation program and later remarried to Robert Riley.
Cheatham described her childhood as “like heaven” and recalls how fun it was growing up as a kid in Jersey. She always had the best time with her paternal grandparents and being around her cousins, and the rest of her family made her feel very appreciated. However, childhood was not without its challenges. Cheatham was not well connected with her mother’s side. She never met her maternal grandmother Mary Ann Williams because her life was taken away when her mother, Tonya Lavette Fitzpatrick Riley, was only 6 years of age. Her maternal grandfather was absent in her life for self reasons, but it caused Cheatham to develop a distant connection with him.
Junior and senior years of high school were two of the most challenging years of Cheatham’s life. She underwent periods of depression and found herself stressed to the point of pulling out her hair. Between her parents arguing (before getting divorced) and dealing with fake friendships, Cheatham faced challenges with her emotions. However, writing songs about her experiences helped her get through difficulties and with making her successful today. On April 29, 2021, Cheatham’s mother died due to kidney disease and other unknown medical complications. However, Cheatham made it known that she will always make sure her mother’s name is never forgotten.
Cheatham’s father, Shawn, belonged to a group called “Rock N Gee and DJ Shawn.” They were signed to Mercury Polygram Records, and her father was (and still is) the disc jockey. In 1989, the group “Rock N Gee and DJ Shawn” had a global hit with their song “Swing Beat,” which amassed worldwide. This was the inspiration Cheatham needed to pursue her passions and wanted to uphold her father’s legacy.
Aside from Cheatham’s father, she was also inspired by well-known artists such as Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Left Eye, and Brandy. She incorporates musical fragments and elements from the styles and sounds of these artists into her own while also maintaining a high level of authenticity. Giving her brief insight into what inspires her, Cheatham quotes, “In general, my failures have inspired me to work harder for my successes, and seeing people inspired by my works has inspired me. I get moved to know that my song changed someone’s day, and that is what really matters to me.”

Neil Kinnock, Baron Kinnock PC is a British former politician. As a member of the Labour Party, he served as a Member of Parliament from 1970 until 1995, first for Bedwellty and then for Islwyn. He was the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition from 1983 until 1992, and Vice-President of the European Commission from 1999 to 2004. Kinnock was considered as being on the soft left of the Labour Party.
Born and raised in South Wales, Kinnock was first elected to the House of Commons in the 1970 general election. He became the Labour Party’s shadow education minister after the Conservatives won power in the 1979 general election. After the party under Michael Foot suffered a landslide defeat to Margaret Thatcher in the 1983 election, Kinnock was elected Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. During his tenure as leader, Kinnock proceeded to fight the party's left wing, especially its Militant tendency, and he opposed NUM leader Arthur Scargill's methods in the 1984–85 miners' strike. He led the party during most of the Thatcher administration, which included its third successive election defeat when Thatcher won the 1987 general election. Although Thatcher had won another landslide, Labour regained sufficient seats for Kinnock to remain Leader of the Opposition following the election.
Kinnock led the Labour Party to a surprise fourth consecutive defeat at the 1992 general election, despite the party being ahead of John Major’s Conservative government in most opinion polls, which had predicted either a narrow Labour victory or a hung parliament. Shortly afterwards, he resigned as Leader of the Labour Party, being succeeded in the ensuing leadership election by John Smith. He left the House of Commons in 1995 to become a European Commissioner. He went on to become the Vice-President of the European Commission under Romano Prodi from 1999–2004, before being elevated to the House of Lords as Baron Kinnock in 2005. Until the summer of 2009, he was also Chairman of the British Council and President of Cardiff University.

"To us, this traditional Scottish Folk Song depicts the love that Queen Elizabeth II had for the beautiful Scottish Highlands. It could almost be a signature to her love and time spent north of the border. It's such a poignant and beautiful traditional song and it seems a perfect track as our tribute to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Having been working on the album for almost 2 years, through covid and into the summer of 2022, It's a mixture of self-penned and traditional songs as well as some very well-known folk covers. We have used various session musicians including Ken Nichol of Steeleye Span and the wonderful country folk guitarist Pete Frampton. The album has that Weavers comedy element but is brought back down to earth with some beautifully poignant trad folk songs.
We are dedicating this album to our late Tony Berry who sadly passed away in 2019."
The Houghton Weavers have been entertaining folk up and down the country and promise a fun-packed, sing-along family show with great music and funny stories galore! There will be plenty of laughter and the old familiar songs like the Blackpool Belle, Matchstalk Men and Wild Rover mixed together with some new songs, and festive perennial favourites on the Christmas Tour like Let It Snow, Bless Your Whiskers and White Christmas.
Learning their craft in the folk clubs of their native North West, the group have never wavered from their original motto of "Keep Folk Smiling".
Steve Millington, David Littler and Jim Berry entertain their audiences in a show of charming fun, humorous jokes, and anecdotes, together with plenty of music, varying from raucous traditional and popular Folk Songs to sing-along favourites, with beautiful ballads and original pieces included throughout. A staggering 98% of people in the UK are concerned about food waste and as we all count the cost on both our pockets and the climate, it’s estimated that the average adult in the UK throws away up to 400kg of food a week.
Items such as bread, salad leaves, bananas and milk top the list of food items that we waste the most of, according to new research. Alongside the environmental impact of increasing food waste, 6 in 10 (63%) of people cite money saving as their biggest food waste worry.
Despite 81% of respondents having been raised to never waste what they eat, almost 4 in 10 (37%) admit forgetting about ingredients they have bought until they go off, while 21% struggle to make use of all the ingredients purchased as part of multi-packs.
The survey, conducted as part of Boursin’s partnership with food waste charity FoodCycle who last year saved 191 tonnes of food from going to waste and helped combat poverty and loneliness in communities in the process, shows that a quarter of households will throw gone-off food away twice a week, with the estimated value being a total of £26.97 per month. But it’s not all bad news as 19% reveal they would be happy to eat food past its use by date, with 2.9 days being the acceptable time past.
Over a quarter (27%) would love to be a zero-food waste household but don't know how to achieve this, and two-thirds of people (67%) struggle to find recipes and inspiration for leftover food and ingredients MasterChef 2018 Winner and restauranteur Kenny Tutt is helping people convert the food that would otherwise go to waste into easy, affordable, and surprisingly mouth-watering meals.

Albert Feynberg's book 'Bohemian Emancipation' focuses on re-evaluating, criticizing, and challenging all of our current and antecedent ideals. It aims to emancipate everyone that dares to think freely, but it does so in a rather unconventional manner; do not fear to challenge thyself, please listen to me as the venomous snake must bite thee, for it is the only way to reincarnation.
