Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, along with Councilmember Howard Chan, are facing backlash for a failure to open a warming center on the night of a horrific storm.  At least 4 homeless people died, and countless tents and homeless communities were wiped out.  Why as a community are we so much more prone to reaction rather than proaction?

On December 29, a 29 year old, unarmed man was killed by a Modesto Police officer.  The officer involved is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.
